You are right about that. However, In 1860, liberal or conservative labels didn’t exist. To Lincoln, the major issue was having a strong central government which superseded the power of the individual states. To the Southerners, it was about enslaving cotton pickers for economic reasons. We have been racist and sexist country since the beginning. Only white male property owners were created equal. The South doesn’t understand that to this day.

@Beganovic2026 @SLMPD A little background. Kansas City filed a similar suit in 2022. They won. But the passage of Amendment 4 in 2025 has made their central argument moot. I have not read the City's petition yet but I expect it to mostly fail. But it should provide clarity on the revenue definition.
