Not true. I'm 1984 so this is my youth. We had Chippy Fridays. Dad took us for McDonald's breakfast. We'd go out to Pizza Hut maybe once a month. Curry became big 90s. I'd go to a pizza/pasta buffet or McDonald's with school mates. Junk was everywhere. x.com/supertolerant/…

I was young in the 80s/90s in the UK. I don’t remember my parents ever going out to eat, except when we were on holiday (in the UK). I don’t think they ever took me to a fast food restaurant, or ordered takeaway food. People today have no clue how working people lived. /1
