@CobaltGreen1138 I mean Blakiston was in the movie (ROTJ) one minute or so, maybe. And when she spoke it was at a more formal & serious meeting, we never see her casually day-to-day talking there.

And then back again to "modern Mon" in Ahsoka, which takes place after ROTJ. Not really a critique, more of an observation. I like that she's made the character her own with Andor. I do wish she was slightly more Blakiston-esque in Ahsoka though.

One of the more interesting things about Genevieve's Mon is that although Andor and R1 are closer to ROTJ timeline-wise, her ROTS performance feels more slavishly in-line with Caroline Blakiston in ROTJ. So we go from Blakiston-esque Mon, to "modern Mon", to Blakiston Mon - (1/2)

@Moyer_the_Boyar @CobaltGreen1138 Damned if they do and damned if they don't. Real world locations with enhancements they get griped that it looks too much like actual places, blue/green screen they get griped at, CGI they get griped at.

@CobaltGreen1138 They went way too hard on practical locations by choosing a famous irl location to base the senate off in S2 Legitimately the biggest blunder visually, taking Coruscant and making it very obviously Australia

The Imperial Senate in ROTJ. Not exactly congruent with what we see in Andor S2 but it's blurry enough that it can be handwaved away.

@alien_barking @MTrac1000 I don't want to influence your opinion. It's got loads of details, but I just hoped it would have named more characters and species. It did name a bunch of Nevarro Mandalorians, but not the 'judge' or the Mando captain on Mandalore.

Just received. I've just had a quick look at it. It mostly names ... weapons. Yes, it names a handful of characters but a lot of them are still unnamed. Even Ankeefo's name (the Snivvian bartender from Adelphi) is reversed to 'Snivvian Bartender'.

Now that it’s been some time… I really hate this shot and hope the movie understands the iconography it is referring to. The shot from Apocalypse Now is not suppose to be “hoorah”… the Americans are the Empire. Even JJ gets that right in TFA.

Oh my God. His dedicated section just refers to him as "Freighter Captain", but the small section on the right about Mandalorian Pirates seemingly accidentally(?) left in that his name is Captain Tribus. What are they doing over there???

@Variety What's controversial about it? These weirdos don't derserve our cash. JK on the other hand, standing up for young women everywhere, does.

Andrew Garfield watched the #HarryPotter movies for the first time even though "it's controversial" and "we shouldn’t be putting money in the pocket" of J.K. Rowling, aka "she that shall remain nameless." “Daniel is so goddamn good. Honestly, I hadn’t watched the ‘Harry Potter’ movies until recently. He’s really good in those movies. Those ‘Harry Potter’ movies are really good. I know it’s controversial and we shouldn’t be putting money in the pocket of inhumane legislation right now through she that shall remain nameless, but the soul and spirit…the essence of the themes of those films and the kids and the artisans and the craft people. I’m working with a wonderful makeup artist, Claire, who worked on the creatures… you can’t throw the baby out of the bathwater. There are so many beautiful artists that worked on those films. I have a newfound appreciation for all of the artists, and Daniel is great." (via Hits Radio) variety.com/2026/film/news…

@retneysholocron People always miss what was said after Poe's line by professor Beaumont Kin. "Dark science, cloning, secrets only the Sith knew." Most EU purists who wanted the original Dark Empire EU intact had no issue with it.

Did you know that all of these visuals are expository and paired with Palpatine's dialogue about the dark side being a pathway to unnatural abilities, you as the viewer should be able to gather that he has returned through some kind of cloning? "Somehow Palpatine returned" is not the explanation that the film gives. This entire opening sequence really gives you everything you need to know. Its "show don't tell."

The 1992 Royal Rumble match had the WWF Championship on the line rather than a WrestleMania title shot. Ric Flair entered at number three and lasted over an hour to win the title. The match featured names like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, The Undertaker, Roddy Piper, Ted DiBiase, Davey Boy Smith, Kerry Von Erich, Big Boss Man, Rick Martel, Sgt Slaughter, Greg Valentine, Tito Santana, Jake Roberts, Sid Justice, and Shawn Michaels all in the same ring. It is still considered the greatest Royal Rumble match ever held. Bobby Heenan on commentary that night produced one of the greatest performances in wrestling broadcast history. #WWE #RoyalRumble #ProWrestling
