Night flights (the up to 16 flights each night, 0430-0600) are driven overwhelmingly by passenger convenience of boarding times in the Far East (HKG, SIN) not by freight.

Our reaction: what a disappointment! Current regime to continue at Heathrow for an additional 3 years whilst DfT drag their heels finding information that has been out there for ages!

What's interesting is Heathrow seem to brief one thing to the press and another to residents, suggesting some internal wrangling is underway. Perhaps no-one knows the true status of the 3rd runway right now. Does nothing for the ongoing blight for residents though.

Heathrow back in dithering mode over their plans for a 3rd runway. Perhaps because of an election in the offing? Heathrow need to end the threat ASAP and the quickest way to do that is for the Airport to announce it is instead 100% focused on being a better, not bigger Airport.
