The workgroups are focusing on issues such as housing, supporting youth and families, and evaluating the state’s substance use disorder and overdose-related programs. The findings from their work will be summarized in the MORAC's annual report later this year. #StopOverdoseMD

Vaping nicotine can make anxiety, mood swings, and focus worse. Instead of turning to a vape to cope with stress, try one of these healthy ways to feel better. Need help to quit? Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW or text VAPEFREE to 21586. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

While nothing can undo the loss of a loved one to overdose, the Purdue Pharma settlement is another step toward addressing the harms of the opioid crisis in our communities. In Maryland, we’re distributing Rx opioid settlement funds to support proven strategies that reduce overdoses and expand access to life-saving care. Nearly $170 million has already gone to or is available for use by counties, cities, and towns across the state, with more on the way. apnews.com/article/oxycon…

Today is #NationalFentanylAwarenessDay! Join the conversation and help spread the word about how to stay safe! Fentanyl is extremely dangerous, but the drug supply in Maryland and across the country is also constantly changing. New substances with harmful side effects can complicate overdose response. Maryland recently launched our new Rapid Analysis of Drugs dashboard to help Marylanders understand these changes. Learn more at bit.ly/OverdoseData.

Fentanyl is an extremely powerful opioid that is often used to make fake pills. Ahead of #NationalFentanylAwarenessDay on 4/29, @SongforCharlie and the Moore-Miller Administration encourage you to get the tools to stay safe! Fentanyl test strips, which are available for free across Maryland, can alert you immediately to the presence of fentanyl, helping you make safe decisions. Learn how to find and use test strips for fentanyl and other drugs at stopoverdose.maryland.gov/fentanyl.

Help us raise awareness for #NationalFentanylAwarenessDay on April 29 with @SongforCharlie, starting with how to respond to an overdose. Naloxone is the easiest way to reverse overdoses involving fentanyl, and it’s available for free across Maryland through our network of over 300 Overdose Response Programs. Learn how to recognize the signs of an overdose, how to respond, and where to find free naloxone near you at stopoverdose.maryland.gov.
