For 55-year-old Sree Siben in remote Sirajganj, a tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis once felt out of reach—the nearest digital X-ray machine was nearly 60 kilometers away. That changed when a portable, AI-powered digital X-ray unit arrived at his local clinic through U.S. government-funding and sharing of U.S. health technology. Within days, he was diagnosed and began treatment—regaining his health and hope. His story reflects a broader impact. In just four months, 11 portable X-ray units have screened more than 11,000 people in hard-to-reach communities, identifying hundreds of TB cases that might otherwise have gone undetected. American innovation and cutting-edge healthcare technology is bringing life-saving care directly to the people who need it most.
