i’ll never understand the “gotcha” behind this, a club prepares for a potential outcome
at least it’s hidden inside unlike celtic’s treble stage last season

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman I just said it shouldn’t be right wing or left wing. It’s not xenophobic to want stronger immigration, and want all msps to have permanent residency in the country they are elected. You are extremely left wing so any else is right wing to you. BYE.
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman you'll never get the support for independence if you tie it to far-right xenophobia, that's for sure. Opposing that is a key reason so many folk want to leave the UK.

English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman Shouldn’t be a left wing or right wing issue. Scottish independence is an idea and doesn’t need to be tied to open borders, or extreme socialism.
You’ll never ever get the support with the current rhetoric.
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman "hijack it"
Independence has been led by progressive forces for decades. If the far-right try to hijack it, we'll tell them to sling their hook.
English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman Errrr nah. Yes Scot is a Scottish independence movement. Nothing more, nothing less. This is why we will never get independence if left wing extremist like you keep trying to hijack it.
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman Btw, you might want to get "Yes.Scot" our your bio. The whole point of the independence movement was to build an alternative to the hostile policies of the UK Government, including on immigration. Support for welcoming people is part of the independence ethos.

English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman Last time I’ll reply, over half of Scotland want less immigration. It’s backed by multiple polls (yougov, ipsos for example). These people don’t want a man from India with no permanent right to be here in parliament. End of. Goodbye
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman "Over half the country"
You're making up stats again lol
English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman Well it’s not democratic for him to be in parliament if over half the country don’t want him to be there. You’ll never grasp this, you’re a left wing extremist by the looks of the profile. Goodbye.
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman you're adding 2+2 and getting 5. It's a different question.
I believe in democracy, which is why I agree with their right to stand.
I do think parliament is valuable; I just don't think it reflects ordinary people.
English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman And as I said. YOUGOV polls. So not only are you a cancer to Scotland, you also can’t read.
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman In other words, you have no polling to back up what you're saying about the act. You're just making stuff up, misusing language and can't answer any questions, so you resort to insulting the other person. :)
English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman People like you are a cancer to Scotland. You’re trying to suggest that Scottish people (and the wider UK) aren’t unhappy with immigration and the current situation, just look at YouGov polls. People like you have destroyed our independence movement. Also Google allegiance.
Bye
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman What evidence is there that people disagree with the act? Do you have polling to bear that out?
What does allegiance to your country mean, Corey? Use full sentences.
English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman You are so thick it’s actually unbearable. You agree with the Act (bizarrely), that’s your choice. However that doesn’t change the fact that most Scots don’t agree with the Act and it needs to be amended. If you don’t understand what having allegiance to your country is then🤷
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman Yet, as established, the eligibility rules haven't been broken, so you're just whinging over nothing.
"Allegiance to the state" wtf does that mean? I don't have allegiance to a state. I have citizenship. My only allegiance is to my class.
English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman Your response amounts to “parliament is useless anyway so eligibility rules don’t matter”. That is not a serious argument. If elected office matters, then who is allowed to hold it matters too. All countries require national legislators to have allegiance to the state they govern
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman Who gives a fuck? It’s a middle class parliament full of people uninterested in ordinary concerns anyway. Made up issues like this just distract from the need for agenda to redistribute wealth and power. I couldn’t care less if one of them is from abroad.
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman They were elected, that’s how a proportional system works, unless you’d prefer the SNP to have won 90% of seats.
The law disagrees with you. They’re entitled to run for public office and represent people.
English

@JackMac_82 @TheScotsman Well, the majority of Scotland don’t want him in parliament. He sneaked in the regional list so wasn’t directly elected.
Never mind the fact he may not even have legal status by the end of the year. Personally don’t have anything against him but he shouldn’t be in office.
English

@StrachanCorey @TheScotsman In other words give into intimidating bullies?
English

@HumzaYousaf The rules? the rules you changed to allow this to happen? Please do one you racist prick, hypocrisy of the highest order anytime you say anything. Tried to destroy the country and cry racism anytime something doesn’t go your way (Broughty ferry nursery for example)
English

Shameful
A young minority politician - who has broken no rules - is elected. Days after their election such is the abuse they suffer they have to be escorted by additional security staff.
Those who have led the pile on to Q Manivannan should take a long hard look at themselves.

@CRLibingstone @KieraDiss @scottishgreens @q_ueering @ScotParl You can keep calling it “inflammatory” instead of answering the actual point, but I do not believe national lawmakers should be people who may not even have a legal right to remain in the country they govern soon. It’s a reasonable position and one shared by most countries.
English

@StrachanCorey @KieraDiss @scottishgreens @q_ueering @ScotParl Anyway, I hope you’re well. If you want to reply, please do but I would respectfully ask you to do so in manor that’s not inflammatory
English

@RussellFindlay1 I agree it’s a farce, but you can’t blame it all on the SNP when all parties (including yours) voted unanimously on the bill to allow this to happen.
You lot are just as bad as each other.
English

@SH0295071856494 @AlanBro72073576 @KieraDiss Actually as much as the SNP have been fucking stuff up, the bill that allowed foreigners to vote/run in elections was voted in unanimously by ALL parties. So they are all equally responsible for this one believe it or not.
English

@AlanBro72073576 @KieraDiss Foreign students can vote in the election. It means there is a hefty foreign/Communist vote in Edinburgh, so they can make videos like this and do well. It is a disgrace and the SNP are responsible.
