Today, at our Palermo shipyard, through our Underwater Technology Hub, we delivered the multi-purpose support vessel “Tritone” to the Italian Navy, designed to ensure maximum operational versatility, with specific reference to the underwater domain. The delivery ceremony was attended by Vice Admiral Vincenzo Montanaro, Italian Navy Logistic Command, Vice Admiral Cristiano Nervi, NAVARM Director, and our EVP Underwater Gabriele Maria Cafaro. The extensive upgrade program undertaken on the “Tritone” allowed us to enhance its operational capabilities and strengthen its integration with the Navy's national command system. The ship is capable of accommodating, handling, powering, and maintaining a wide range of payloads, ensuring rapid reconfiguration based on the missions to be carried out. Through the numerous trials that it will conduct, the vessel will contribute to the development of key technological and operational solutions to address an increasingly strategic domain for national security such as the underwater one. With a decisive role in supporting the definition of the requirements for any new vessels to be designed - the future Multi-Purpose Underwater Domain Surveillance Vessels (UPSDS), which will join the fleet starting from 2031 - “Tritone” consolidates our role as an orchestrator of highly complex technologies, capable of operating seamlessly from the surface to the seabed, from hardware to software, and to develop modular, scalable, and interoperable solutions that strengthen the ability of the national defense system to respond to emerging challenges with speed, security, and an integrated approach. @ItalianNavy @MinisteroDifesa
