This twitter page is focused on our stroke team here at Wye Valley NHS Trust. Working hard to provide the best care and outcomes for our patients.

In the INTERACT4 trial involving 2404 patients with acute stroke and elevated blood pressure, ambulance-delivered systolic blood-pressure reduction did not result in better functional outcomes than usual care. Full trial results: nej.md/3ysx39I #ESOC2024

Time is brain: Timely intervention prevents a certain death. A doctor from another hospital collapsed while working with a life-threatening basilar stroke. Was airlifted to @UHNM_NHS and was rapidly deteriorating and probably moments away from respiratory arrest and irreversible brain damage/death. Thrombectomy performed in a timely manner and patient made a complete recovery within 24 hours and discharged home. Nice of them to come back with a thank you card and a box of chocolate. @UHNMCharity @TheStrokeAssoc

Former volunteer Millie, now WVT Bank HCA, is on her shadow shift on Frome. Millie tells Anna from volunteer Services, ‘volunteering has helped orientate me to hospital life and understand how ward structure works.’ #amazingWVTvolunteers #amazingWVTstaff
