First, I want to thank the Air Force coaching staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be part of their program. Due to the recent coaching change and uncertainty moving forward, I will be reopening my recruitment while still keeping Air Force strongly in consideration. I’m grateful for all the support and look forward to what’s ahead. @79colt45 @CoachCVilla @Strongbball @VHS_Hoops @OntheRadarHoops

BUFFALO AT THE BUZZER! Ethan Bevis’ putback basket at the final horn lifts The Villages to a 54-52 win over Andrew Jackson in the Class 3A state semifinals. VHS will take on Calvary Christian in the state title game at 8pm Wednesday in Jacksonville.

Cannon Swift(@cannonswift4 ) put together a sophomore season that turned heads across Tennessee and made it clear that Bristol has a rising force on its hands. Wearing No. 4 for Tennessee High School, the Class of 2028 guard played with the kind of relentless confidence that refuses to blend into the background. Night after night, Cannon stepped onto the floor with a fearless mentality and the determination to make his presence felt on both ends. The result was a season packed with impact, highlighted by Conference Champion and Regional Champion honors while also earning All Conference recognition, a spot on the All Conference Tournament Team, and All District honors. His performance backed up every accolade as he stacked up more than 250 points and over 100 rebounds while producing multiple explosive scoring outings that proved he could erupt at any moment. What makes Cannon such a difficult matchup is the way he plays the game with constant pressure on the defense. A shifty guard who thrives in attack mode, he is electric off the bounce and relentless when driving downhill. His quick first step allows him to burst past defenders, while his sick handles help him weave through traffic and create angles others cannot find. Once he gets into the lane, he welcomes contact and finishes with toughness, showing the ability to absorb bumps and still convert at the rim. But Cannon is far more than just a slasher. He is a true three-level scoring threat who can stretch the defense with confident shooting from deep, rise comfortably with a smooth middy, or break defenses down to get all the way to the basket. When defenders collapse to slow his scoring, Cannon shows another weapon to his game by dropping sweet dimes that keep the offense flowing. His court vision allows him to read help defenders and find teammates in rhythm, creating opportunities that spark momentum for his team. That ability to both score and facilitate makes him a constant problem for opposing defenses that cannot simply key in on one aspect of his game. His impact does not stop on the offensive side. Cannon competes with a fierce edge, mixing it up on the boards as well. For a guard to gobble up more than 100 rebounds during the season speaks to his instinct, toughness, and willingness to battle in the paint. He tracks the ball off the rim, crashes the boards with purpose, and turns those rebounds into fast break opportunities. Instead of waiting for the game to unfold around him, Cannon attacks every moment, pushing the pace and injecting energy that lifts everyone around him. Recognition followed that production as he averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds in conference play while helping power Tennessee High to conference and regional championships. Add in the recognition from Prep Hoops, where he was ranked among the Top 100 players in the Class of 2028 and named a Prep Hoops Top Performer four different times, and it becomes clear that Cannon’s impact extends well beyond his local gym. The sophomore season served as a powerful statement for Cannon Swift. He proved he can score, rebound, create, and compete at a high level while delivering in big moments against strong competition. With his fearless approach, relentless energy, and skill set that keeps expanding, Cannon is building momentum that says his best basketball is still ahead. If this season was the foundation, the next chapters in Bristol could be even louder. Graphic by @SPORTSxEDITS @TSSAA @PrepHoopsTN
