I'm currently re-texturing Psychonauts 1 with hand-retouched HD textures. I got the uncompressed source textures, used AI upscaling to bring them to a higher res, then retouched & even fully redrew some of them in Photoshop. It's taken months, but the mod's nearing completion.

The Sandy Hook shooting inspired us to make an underwater survival game, without guns. Now all I'm thinking about is how we could empower our @Subnautica fans to help change our gun laws in the US. There are about 10M Subnautica players. That's enough to start a movement.

@maryarchived This is a you problem; my sister had a male kindergarten teacher, and nobody batted an eye. Her babysitter was a random guy that worked at the pawn shop—he taught her how to tie fishing knots, and we never worried because we aren't weirdos that think every male is a predator.

to those denying biology here - would you hire a male babysitter? you meet your kid’s kindergarten teacher and it’s a dude, how do you feel about that? what do women have that men don’t? … are we beginning to understand each other now? men aren’t women. none of this is a knock against men, it’s just true.

lots of strange reactions to this game. let’s clear some things up: childless men do not have paternal instincts the way that childless women have maternal instincts (we observe this even in the way little girls play vs. little boys). men first experience paternal instincts once they have their own children - and typically, those paternal instincts are only ever felt for their own children, and no one else’s. men are not nurturers. men don’t gush over cute kids in public. men don’t have baby fever. if a man wants to possess a child for any reason other than it being a product of his own lineage, he is likely a predator. and you’d be taking the feminist/radical gender abolitionist position to protest any of the above points. this should explain why a “dad simulator” game marketed to mostly childless men gives people the creeps.

@ProZD Directors should hire the voice they feel fits their characters. The only time someone should be voiced exclusively based on race is if the character is based on a real person. Otherwise, I could give a shit less if an Asian character is voiced by a Mexican, Caucasian, etc.

I'm obviously a Nintendo fan first and foremost, but it can't be understated how much PS2-era platformers have permanently affected my brain chemistry in ways no other franchise has or ever will again.
