@StrumWithMe1 For me the best thing about Willie’s song writing ,is its uniqueness. He wasn’t a templet , he just play how he felt best expressed the message

It's a bit tricky to imitate Willie Nelson's phrasing. He always hits the note a bit early or late for effect and no one does it better! Here's the guitar solo from Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.

@StrumWithMe1 @84explore I think Willie is the epitome of American music. Even people who don't like country are good with Willie. And he's been writing since the 1950s. He is to American music what Clint Eastwood is to American cinema.

@RohinHat Thanks Rohin! I so agree! It's tough for other singers to harmonize with him because he loves to dance a little around the beat. He plays guitar the way he sings.

Willie IS super talented and still releasing New Music. At the pace of roughly two good albums a year! I have always loved his guitar feel and as you note his unusual timing and phrasing. I call it “lefty” rhythm. He’s one of the most underrated guitarists of all time - I love his solos and phrasing!! You just need to LISTEN ❤️ Great post!! 👍🏼

@kburnes67 It went very well! It was a classical guitar competition. The kids won several medals and had a great experience.

I have a serious question, I am asking you to do this as a favor and an experiment for the dyslexic and adhd community! Just once on a simpler song will u mirror the video where it’s backwards. I want to see how my brain reads it then! Just a thought! Cheers!

I'm posting this from I-10 outside Van Horn, Tx. I'm on the road taking my students to the state competition for classical guitar in Austin. Awesome young musicians.
