@lawbal44 @sheepGeekCP if you want to grow a spring milling grain oat variety that has low lignin you have to grow Mitika or Kowari, whereby you are leaving a fair bit of yield on the table, all others are high, except for Koala, at Mod Low it is a good compromise in that respect.

Got going again but not for long. Not going to hurt much with only lupins and oats to be done. 20kg/ha of Koala oats over new pasture looks like it might return 2.5-3T/ha. Might have to dig a hole like @sheepGeekCP 😁 A good problem to have.

New Lentil variety for 2026 “ALB Dane” (ALB2321) at the BCG Main Field Day yesterday. The recent AgVic releases have had a 🐕 naming theme, Kelpie & Terrier, with no real correlation, but not this time, “Great Dane”, big dog & big Lentil.

Essentially, what this body of @DPIRDbroadacre research suggests (relative to Bannister): 1. Goldie's N fertiliser package is similar, 2. Koala's N fertiliser package is also similar, but avoid > 100 kg N/ha, and 3. Minnie may benefit from slightly more N.

Adapted varieties and improved agronomy continue to grow the pulse frontier. Impressive yields in the NSW Mallee again (60km NE Mildura), but dont delay sowing & on just 100mm GSR, Yp = 1.05t/ha. GIA Thunder (0.85t/ha) tops the lentils sown early. @Moodie_ag @brill_ag @theGRDC
