BREAKING. The country President Trump called “very late as usual” just parked a nuclear submarine within Tomahawk range of Iran. HMS Anson, an Astute-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, is now positioned in the northern Arabian Sea with cruise missiles capable of reaching targets deep inside Iranian territory. Britain did not announce this with a press conference. The Daily Mail published the positioning. The submarine speaks for itself. HMS Anson left Perth earlier this month and traveled 5,500 miles to the Arabian Sea. It carries Tomahawk Block IV cruise missiles and Spearfish heavyweight torpedoes. Its Rolls-Royce reactor will not need refuelling for 25 years. Its pump-jet propulsor makes it one of the quietest submarines in any navy. It does not need to surface to strike. It does not need permission from Washington. Starmer authorises launches through Permanent Joint Headquarters at Northwood. This is a British weapon under British command. The sequence matters. On the first day of the war, Iran fired two intermediate-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, a British territory in the Indian Ocean. Neither hit. Trump publicly criticised the UK as “very late” and “disappointing” in its response. Starmer initially hesitated on US requests to use British bases for strike operations. Then Britain authorised the use of UK bases, including Diego Garcia, for operations to prevent Iran from attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran responded by warning that British lives are now at risk. Britain responded by sending a submarine that can put a Tomahawk through a window in Tehran from underwater without surfacing. The escalation ladder from “very late” to nuclear attack submarine took less than three weeks. Starmer’s calculation is not ideological. It is economic. The UK imports significant quantities of LNG and oil through Gulf supply routes. The Strait of Hormuz carries approximately 20 percent of global seaborne oil trade. British energy prices are already surging from the Hormuz closure. British pharmaceutical supply chains depend on Indian manufacturers who depend on Gulf crude. The same supply-chain vulnerability that connects Modi’s Nowruz phone call to Ohio pharmacies connects Starmer’s submarine deployment to British gas bills. The submarine is not defending democracy. It is defending heating costs. The Astute-class is the most capable attack submarine Britain has ever built. Seven are planned. Five have been commissioned. HMS Anson, the fifth, entered service in 2022. At 97 metres and 7,800 tonnes submerged, it carries a crew of 98 in a hull designed to operate at depths exceeding 300 metres. It is smaller than the American Virginia-class but rated quieter by multiple independent assessments. It carries fewer missiles but needs fewer sailors. In a strait where stealth matters more than volume, the boat that cannot be heard is more dangerous than the fleet that can be seen. The UK is now the third nation with strike capability deployed in the war theatre, after the United States and Israel. France has the Charles de Gaulle carrier group for air operations. Greece has a Patriot battery defending Saudi refineries. Twenty-three nations signed a statement. But only Britain has put a nuclear-powered platform carrying land-attack cruise missiles underwater in the Arabian Sea with the authority to fire them on the Prime Minister’s order. Trump said late. Starmer sent a submarine. The missile it carries can reach Tehran. The reactor that powers it will not need fuel until 2047. And the man who authorises the launch is the same man Iran threatened by name when it said British lives are at risk. The threat was noted. The submarine arrived. @nofearlimit Facts…….. The US has maintained support to NATO. Most recently, the Nat Def Authorization Act for Year 2024, enacted on 22 Dec 2023, prohibits the President from unilaterally withdrawing from NATO without approval of a two-third Senate super-majority or an act of Congress.

On NATO not being involved because a member was not attacked: RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus is a British sovereign base. It was hit by an Iranian drone. British servicemen took cover as explosions rang out around them and their families were evacuated. And that was not the beginning of Iran's war against Britain. MI5 has confirmed that twenty Iranian terror plots on British soil have been disrupted since 2022, including attempted kidnappings, surveillance operations against the Jewish community and the recruitment of criminals to carry out murders on British streets. If a regime that has been running active assassination operations in Britain for years and has now physically struck a British military base does not constitute an attack on a NATO member, the definition of an attack has been stretched beyond recognition. Britain was not a bystander in this conflict. It had been a target long before the first American bomb fell on Tehran. On Sanchez standing up to Trump: Pedro Sanchez opposed the strikes, called them an extraordinary mistake and refused to cooperate. Trump threatened to cut off all Spanish trade. Spain then sent its most advanced frigate to Cyprus, where it arrived before the British warship that had been announced days earlier. That's not standing up to Trump. That's capitulating to Trump faster and more completely than Britain did, while making more noise about it in the process. Sanchez is not a model of principled resistance. He's a case study in how quickly the rhetoric of defiance collapses when the economic consequences become real. The difference is that Spain moved quickly when the pressure was applied. Britain is still consulting its team.

Trump Has Just Told NATO Allies They Are On Their Own. Starmer Did This. Donald Trump has just posted the most consequential statement about the Western alliance since its foundation. NATO allies, he wrote, privately agreed that Iran could not be allowed a nuclear weapon but refused to help when asked. America no longer needs or desires their assistance. We never did. Let that land. This is not bluster. It is a doctrine. Trump is telling every European government that the Article 5 guarantee they have sheltered under for seventy years was always conditional, and that they have now demonstrated they will not honour their side of the arrangement when it matters. The mutual defence alliance that kept the peace in Europe since 1949 has just been publicly declared a one way street by the President of the United States. Every adversary watching, Russia, China, Iran, will draw the same conclusion simultaneously. Britain's fingerprints are all over this moment. Starmer blocked Diego Garcia. He needed a drone on his own runway to reverse the decision. He consulted his team on minesweepers. He watched France, Greece and Spain defend a British base while HMS Dragon sat in Portsmouth. He offered an aircraft carrier after the war was won and was told it was no longer wanted. He issued a joint humanitarian statement about Lebanon that did not mention Hezbollah once. At every stage of this crisis he chose the path of least domestic political resistance over the obligations of the oldest and most important bilateral relationship in British foreign policy. Trump's post also hands every adversary a strategic map. A Western alliance whose European members privately agree on the threat but publicly refuse to act against it is not an alliance. It is a talking shop with a defence clause nobody intends to honour. Putin will have read this post with considerable satisfaction. So will Beijing. The fracture that Starmer and his European counterparts have opened is not merely reputational. It is structural. And it will not be repaired by a press conference or a carefully worded statement about the special relationship being in operation. Churchill understood that alliances are maintained by behaviour not words. You show up or you do not. Britain did not show up. Trump has noticed. And he has said so, in capital letters, for the entire world to read. The consequences of Starmer's calculations are no longer theoretical. They are here, on Truth Social, signed by the President of the United States of America. "At every stage of this crisis [Starmer] chose the path of least domestic political resistance over the obligations of the oldest and most important bilateral relationship in British foreign policy."

As an American I have something I want to tell Europeans. Enough with your fucking defeatism. You once possessed some of the most powerful militaries in the world, act like it. Europe's enemy is solely Russia and that's it. Unlike the United States, Europe doesn't run around making worldwide enemies, and unlike the US, Europe isn't Israel's bitch. Some Europeans think the United States leaving NATO would be a bad thing. I think Europe should look to its own defense. Two to three years of peace in the last 51 years, that's the US Record. In those 51 Years, with the exception of the war here in Ukraine and the former Yugoslavia, Europe has been at peace during that time. As an American living in Europe, I can tell you, Americans don't think like Europeans. They only think about themselves and what's best for them. You as Europeans need to stop thinking less of yourselves, you're far better than you think you are.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on X: "Just spoke to U.S. President Donald Trump about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way."

Trump is 100% correct: NATO has stabbed America in the back. We've protected them for over 75 years - at immense cost. And now not one NATO nation is willing to offer minesweeper vessels to clear the Strait of Hormuz & help us end the #IranWar . It's time to LEAVE NATO! I'm done.

We must have thought we didn’t start this war. We are now NATO allies. But NATO is too one sided. If we need to go it alone we need to stop footing the bill for 60 to 70% of NATO. if we are alone we need to just build ourselves up. We couldn’t even get a mine sweeper from the EU. It’s pitiful.
