AB 893 will streamline the development of mixed-use, mixed income apartments on commercial land near UCs, CSUs, and CCCs
AB 648 will exempt CCC housing projects from local zoning
AB 357 will streamline the development of student and faculty/staff housing int he coastal zone

@tobyhardtospell @mnolangray and unlike AB 2011, 893 applies to all commercial land near campuses, irrespective of road-width and proximity to transit. 893 also allows for 80 units per acre and 65 ft of height on all commercial parcels in a CDZ, where 2011 densities reduce as parcels decrease in size.

@CSElmendorf @BuffyWicks AB 893 also makes key amendments to 2011 (Wicks) to the end abuse of the bill's eligibility carveouts, clarifying that the "site" to be considered by a local government for ministerial review must be limited to the area that is physically disturbed by construction.

This is wild. ICYMI, SB 79 was not the only pro-housing bill @CAgovernor signed. He signed over 40 bills that tackle speeding up construction, expanding affordability, strengthening accountability and more. I couldn't even fit it in one screenshot!
