@JaiBhimChron Sevadaars are not priests, they are simply volunteers who look after the day to day management of the temple

@krishna_joshi01 @thulaihero Tourism has created jobs, foreign exchange, and growth in these countries, delivering measurable prosperity. However, as noted, tourism is not a "miracle cure" but a significant economic pillar with both benefits and challenges.

Origins of techno raves are in ancient Egypt btw. The ancient Egyptians had a festival called Tekh, which was dedicated to the goddess of war and medicine Sekhmet, where they drank large quantities of red-dyed beer and danced for days, considered transformatory and healing.

Some people have strange arguments like this on the Gajapati and Vijayanagar conflict. It is difficult to explain why such absurd claims are being made by many. Mostly because none of these people have read from Gajapati POV. Many kingdoms fought each other so as these two which is natural but some take this to extreme limit. Some learned people also make such weird claims also always seeing one side of the argument 1. No Gajapatis had no role in Islamisation of South India. The region where Gajapatis ruled has probably the least amount of Muslims even today in south India. South India came into direct muslim rules from Khilji/Tughlak period. Gajaptis didn't have any role to play there. Part of Karnataka and Telangana was under muslims since invasion of Malik Kafur. Even in south Madurai sultanate was created. Gajaaptis had no roler.Yes Gajapatis fought Vijayanagar. So as Reddis fought them. Infact the Reddi kingdom of Kondavidu was subdued by Vijayanagar not Gajapatis. When Kapilendra invaded south It was Mallpa Odeyar, the commander of Devaraya II who was already calling the shots in north coastal andhra not the reddis directly. Devaraya II claims to have defeated the king of Andhra in his inscriptions too. So is it an argument to say it was islamisation of Andhra because of Devaraya II? 2. Some well read people even saying Gajapatis and Bahmanis allied against Vijayanagar based on one court poets claims of simultaneous attack. They forgot Gajapatis literally thrashed Bahmanis claiming to have captured even Bahmani capital. If simultaneous attack is considered as alliance then Vijayanagar and Bengal sultanate attacked Gajapati territory from north and south simultaneously too. Does this mean they were allies? They didn't have any conflict among themselves btw unlike Gajapati and Bahmanis. Gajapatis fought atleast 4 powerful sultanates at one go. Kapilendra thrashed them all 3. I saw someone writing Gajapatis didn't care about Hindus or anything. Well this is really weird claim. Bahmani sources even themselves claim that one of the reasons Gajapatis attacked Devarakonda was to save fellow Hindus. A muslim enemy is saying this. But Hindus of today 🙄. Quoting one of the instances mentioned by Russian traveller Nikitin one author says when Vijayanagar was invaded by Bahmanis, the arrival of Purushottama Deva opening a third front saved the day for them. Sanjar Khan, the man who was selling Hindus as slaves was slayed because of the Gajapati invasion. Even Krishna raya vijayam (even though with a lot of mistakes)praises Gajapati for his hindu devotional nature. 4. Some people also claim that Prataprudra Deva insulted Krishna Deva Raya using caste slurs which resulted in war. I am not sure how true is this caste slur thing but the war between the 2 kingdoms is much older than PRD and KDR period. The first mention of war is from around 1356. Also in Odisha there is a tradition that due to abduction of a royal woman by the Vijayanagar the war started between Gajapati and Vijayanagar. I bet none of these people even know about it. Taking both these things seriously will be unwise IMO. 5. Isn't deploying muslim soldiers in army kind of Islamisation? Devaraya II put a Quran beside his throne to respect it so that muslims won't mind joining his army. Was it because of Gajapatis? What both sides did is perfectly explainable and can be considered right in their own way. But due to availability bias without reading sources from the other side they make weird assumption and claims. Please refrain from these. Both the empires have great contributions to Hindu cause. One doesn't need to be vilified to glorify other.

@Imperium_Kanchi The 5 great Kaapiyams became a thing only in the 13th century Nannul. As for the individual epics themselves, none are traced to Sangam Only Cilappatikaram and Manimekalai is from post sangam. Rest are from later Chola period, Chintamani was likely written during Kulotunga's rule 11th century.

@Stuka68 @braveone673896 @kiskebaka 5 great kaapiyams - 3 jain, 2 Buddhist. Those can trace backed to Sangam era. Can't deny Vedic influence but the mainstream hindu religion became prominent after bhakthi era with various amalgamations.
