@jramjee @Adam__Melia @idlewildgirl Breaking in selvedge jeans; wear for up to 6 weeks, then turn inside out, run through a cold cycle (30 degrees max, if you must) on their own and without detergent, low speed spin and hang straight on the line to dry. I’ve gone much longer than this and it prolongs life & patina.

@Stillmanator Agreed. He’s just the natural ego-extension of Clattenburg of old. So many errors, contradictions and on the hoof justifications, no matter who your team is, it’s all about him. He’ll overstretch himself once too often and his time will come.

The TV show is not about clarifying or educating. Much of it is about post-hoc, made up on the spot justification (and let's face it, even if it wasn't, fans are intransigent when we think we've been screwed too, even if the explanations were good or illuminating, nobody would want to hear it anyway). But the main reason the show exists is in the word 'show.' Webb doesn't see this as part of the support structure, he sees himself and the officials he oversees as central to the 'plot.'

The only thing you need to know about Howard Webb's TV show is that the entire point of it is that it gets Howard Webb on TV. There is nothing else to take or dissect from it.

I'm intrigued about the psychology behind sending a ref over to the screen to have a look at their decision. how many times have refs had a look and gone 'no, I was right the first time around'?

@idlewildgirl I was doing the same with Blundstone boots, eight pairs now. It became a compulsive purchase obsession.. on a no-buy month in October to try and break the habit.

Ironically they’re all now complaining about an obviously correct Gabriel handball decision. Newcastle shouldn’t complain about decisions, they should have the mentality to go and win it anyway.
