@De_Smitty7 @playrust 16GB just isn't the standard anymore. That is the lower limit for gaming nowadays. Rust performs better with more RAM because it can queue more things into temporary storage to serve to the processor.

@playrust This is very good however i believe if you guys could do this with RAM usage as well it will be the MOST impactful thing u can do for performance. I've played on 16,32 and 64gb of ram and on 16gb of ram rust is barley playable and crashes ALOT.

@Alistair_McF This is great, but when can you please allow old server depots to be downloaded again? There wasn't even an explanation on why it was taken away.

Going forwards, we're aiming to release one new skinnable almost every month till we run out. We're going in a rough order from most requested based on several recent community surveys.

In other news, Rust beds are now skinnable on Staging. Skins will appear in store next month.

@StevieDoesYT @playrust When I upgraded to my 5800x3D, I experienced up to 200fps in game back in 2023. On this current day, I am getting 70-90fps and sometimes as low as 50fps. There is something seriously wrong.

I've played Rust every day since forcewipe and I can confidently say- in my 8 years of playing @playrust, I have never had a more powerful and optimized PC build yet I have never had worse performance across all servers in this game. 50-70 FPS anywhere near any decent sized base on average sized servers makes PvP feel horrendous. I cannot imagine what players with less powerful rigs are feeling... I have seen @Alistair_McF's Tweet talking about addressing this head on. I am excited to see what happens and deeply hope this is the main focus of the next force-wipe and not some small afterthought tweak to try to calm the justified concerns! 🙏

Reddit /r/playrust is wild, bitching about WIP changes, screenshots without full context and you've not even played it yet. You can have an opinion, let's get an informed opinion. Some of the best changes to Rust were the ones which were overwhelming negative till they went live publicly and now part of the core game loop. Give it a month, play it, then tell us if its shit. Let's experiment, spice it up a little. There are lots of good changes on the horizon.

@mrotss_ @reksmore Part of the early wipe process is finding your teammates and creating that team. I feel like even for small group servers it takes an important step out.

@reksmore hear me out, the party system minus the close spawns could be good for the game as long as there is a limit to the number of players in a party and coupled with the loot spawn changes, i could see vanilla full of smaller groups fighting over less resources which = more fun

if this party system passes into the vanilla game I wouldn't be surprised if they revive this idea next as it seems to be the direction they want to go right now

@Alistair_McF @onchaingf I think the game is in a great place atm, it's all a balancing act, just need to be careful creeping too far to one side, a lot of recent changes have made things much easier recently, ease onboards new players, whereas difficulty and nuance keeps a long term community.

I highly recommend reading this if you bought any of the Heat Seeker MP5. My thoughts about its price and future: Everyone’s saying that the Heat Seeker MP5 will tank hard eventually since it’s the highest selling MP5 ever with probably 60k+ sales already. I agree, but I want to offer a deeper look and an alternative take. The Comics MP5. It was the highest selling MP5 before and yet it’s holding twice the store price today. It’s 4 years old, sure, but more importantly, it followed a similar scenario that I think we’ll see with the Heat Seeker MP5: 1️⃣ It hits the Steam Market 2️⃣ Sells above store price for the first few hours, maybe even a day 3️⃣ People undercut each other's sell offers aggressively 4️⃣ The price tanks, potentially to around 1.5$ (or even lower) 5️⃣ After a week or so, a reversal starts 6️⃣ It tanks back down again 7️⃣ Sellers get exhausted and stop undercutting 8️⃣ Accumulation phase starts 9️⃣ Natural demand slowly takes over and the price grows over the years This scenario is the most likely one in my opinion, because of how many inexperienced buyers there are who bought the hype and will panic-sell really fast. It’s basic market psychology I’ve witnessed hundreds of times in crypto and stocks. The only real concern is if they release another skin with this same p2w sight, which is possible but totally out of our control
