One of the best meetings on the job so far. I was really pleased today to Chair the first Drug and Alcohol Recovery Expert Panel today. We’ve convened this advisory panel of leading experts to provide robust, evidence-based insights to reduce and prevent demand for drugs and alcohol. We want people leaving the criminal justice system already on the road to recovery. This panel's work will be critical to our ambitions to reduce reoffending. More information to be published on the panel's work in due course.

It was an incredibly special event surrounded by people committed to spreading love & hope. Also acknowledging those who supported us during challenging times. I feel truly fortunate to lead a team that has the opportunity to extend a helping hand to YP facing extreme adversity.

BREAKING "Domestic abuse victims and care leavers under 25 to be exempt from any ‘local connection’ requirements." This will mean care leavers placed out of area and who have built lives for themselves, making new friends will no longer face downward social mobility.
