That’s foul.
Accurate, but foul.

@BaseballDudes48 Oh I’ve seen it. We have some doozies out here in Massachusetts

@SubbedMark1980 😂😂 Can you imagine the zone being called by the book at the younger ages. Literally 20 walks a game!

“The River”
The space between home plate and the batters box line. We all know that just a piece of the baseball has to touch the edge of the strike zone to be called a strike. That’s on all edges of the zone. But the debate is this should change depending on the age (and ability?) of the pitchers on the mound.
Some will use “inches” to describe how much grace should be given while others use “baseball’s” as the example.
A baseball is approximately 3” wide. So what’s acceptable? How much extra should the umpires give? Is that fair to the batters to widen it that much? Some of these kids can’t even reach across the plate that far with their arm and bat length.
Does giving the pitchers that much extra develop an unrealistic feel for the strike zone? But maybe the most important question, if the same extension of the zone that’s given to our pitchers is used when we are hitting, will we actually be okay with it?
For the parents who stand right behind home plate and watch this part of the game, are we okay with it when it’s called against our hitters (and your child) as we “will take it” when it’s given to our pitchers?
“Just be consistent!!” 😁😁
Before we go into a rant about how bad umpires are, these questions aren’t about the umpires. It’s about what everyone thinks is acceptable and how they would call the game if they were umpires (since it’s definitely easier to umpire from the stands).

What I really dislike is the random zone depending on the pitchers ability. Tightening the zone in game for a more accurate pitcher but widening it to “keep the game moving” for the other. Our local umpires tell us this before and during the games. Drives up pitch counts on the good pitcher and gives the hitters reasons to not try a swing or two. Meanwhile the other team may have to swing at a ball 5-6 inches off the plate. It’s tough. Not sure how to fix it.

Thomas Massie:
“This is the 6 month anniversary of the Epstein Files Transparency Act— We've taken out:
— Two dozen CEO’s
— a Prince
— a Prime Minister
— a Minister of Uckture
And that was just 6 months. I got 7 months left in Congress."

@BaseballDudes48 What age and level are you doing bullpens with pitchers?

If you and your team use GameChanger, look at this:
Your team’s:
• Total innings pitched.
• Total runs allowed.
• Total base on balls (BB) allowed.
Then go to the “advanced” stats and find the BBS (base on balls that scored).
This is a very telling and shocking stat for most. Walks are free bases and when walks come around and score, that’s a free run.
Find your total games played and divide your BBS number with it to see on average how many free runs you are giving away.
Walks happen, it’s part of the game but one of our main goals every game should be “ZERO WALKS!” The next questions for those with high walk numbers, how much are we practicing pitching? How much do we understand pitching as coaches? Do we have a plan? How well do our catchers and pitchers understand their positions? How much do we discuss the mental side of the game??
How different would your season be if you were able to cut that BBS stat in half??

As if he doesn't have enough jobs already, Marco Rubio apparently now has another name.
@MsMelChen tells me how China literally gave him a new name to bypass their own sanctions on him:
“Instead of rescinding the sanctions, what they did was just change Rubio’s name in Chinese, so that now the sanctions don’t apply... It's a 'different guy' coming in [to China].
It is a culture which cannot admit any political errors. It’s to save face. To actually reverse the sanctions would be to admit, ‘oh, we kind of did something that is a mistake.”

@MarvelStudios @ThePunisher I expected Disney to ruin this. They did not. It was a fantastic lead into what should be a great series or movie. Shane aka Jon Bernthal has fully embraced this role.
