I’m a bit lost here. No one deleted Garrons social media accounts except Garron. Pile-ons are par for the course on this and other platforms but you can be sure if 100 people disagree with you then 100 agree with you. So why did Garron remove himself from social media?

@martinbeanz It’s a strange feeling having that sort of energy directed at you that is almost transcendental. You feel it even if you cut yourself off from the internet.

What have @DubCityCouncil got against this mural? Why must everything be grey or fenced off? Why the constant hostility to public art? I'll be writing to the Council for answers.

@edgalligan @ConorReddy95 @DubCityCouncil We were taken to court over artworks which we funded entirely ourselves. A lot of these sort of murals are in fact advertisements paid for by NGOs

@ConorReddy95 @DubCityCouncil It at least doesn't seem like DCC are being partisan/political here - they have a long history of cracking down on murals, including (rightly) the pervasive ads put up everywhere by @SubsetDublin We really need more nuanced regulation of public art that isn't just bureaucracy.

As we have been blocked many times from taking down Bidens mural, we decided to put up our own mural beside his.

They just straight up need PP. The size exemption sounds like it’s related to a temporary advertising structures which have a maximum stay period of 7 days.

If you create a piece of public art then you can’t get upset when people don’t engage with it in the way you want. It doesn’t work like that.

@Bubblenoma Most artists are forced to work with commercial businesses in order to sustain themselves because there are very little other supports. It’s either that, leave art and get a job or work a job to fund your art which eats up time and energy

I beg for people to get an iota of critical thinking. This is like Subset all over again.

We didn’t have any money whatsoever, owed suppliers and were struggling to even eat because of it. we never really recovered from it

Seeing a lot of people I know entering a competition for a popular Irish brand to be in with a chance to get their work on a billboard. Just so you know, a job like that would cost thousands (yes) and they are looking for you to work for free - don’t be a fool/don’t be fooled
