How do SuDS planters benefit the environment? 🌧️ Rainwater runoff is captured, absorbed, filtered, cleaned and slowly released, helping to take pressure off the main drainage systems. 🌱 By effectively managing surface water, the vegetation-filled planters improve water quality and quantity, enhancing local climate resilience. #SuDS #SuDSPlanters #ClimateResilience #WaterManagement #SurfaceWater #FloodPrevention #NatureBasedSolutions

@dublin_damo If you report that to @dccBETA (I think this is their handle), they react pretty quickly to these situations. Probably an emergency helpline online

@tony_randles Yes - that's a huge plus. I do find even when we get rid of cars we still find room for an insane amount of clutter though.

You'd marvel at how all the cyclists, pedestrians and trams are able to function without the hundreds of bollards and warning signs or directions to the nearest motorway🙄 And no overhead lines either! #seville

One of the #CargobikeSharingBETA electric bikes was used yesterday to make a 5.7km journey over 3 hours, transporting 2 children + 3 bags to 3 destinations, for €11. The user noted that "it would be extremely difficult to manage this journey in a car due to timing and parking."

@damcw So far, all seems OK. Two things we're considering from this perspective - how people are generally treating the appliance (eg malicious damage or such) and how people are cleaning up after themselves (both the appliance itself but also the general area around).

@damcw The appliance was installed last Sept or so. Device was accessible to the public but unannounced and power kept switched off. As we considered it, we then ordered the optional hood which had many benefits. Then trial began in May telling locals, then wider announcement in July.

@st_yossarian @damcw If this project moves to the scaling stage, we'll look at what best language to use. Hence for the moment we're using the interim "cooktop" term.

@ukwrightphil @BleeperActive Thanks, we'll discuss with Cyclehoop about the inner handle and Bleeper about covers. Whatever the solution for covers, it'd need to be a citywide solution and be sustainable to do and keep going.

@dccBETA @BleeperActive …to a ground anchor. Could the cover be reserved at the time of booking, so a @BleeperActive team member could ensure it’s available only as needed? Or perhaps the concierge at the local hotel would store it as part of their CSR/sustainability initiative?

@BleeperActive @dccBETA Feedback to further improve the excellent Portobello cargo bikes: It would be great if the clock was accurate (Dolly box) Would be good for all approach roads to be accessible - Windsor Terrace would benefit from allowing contraflow cycling
