hello twitter ,Right now I am trying to build following side projects to learn about native development through react native and expo. 1. Route planner app for B2B distributers tech stack : @expo (UI) @supabase (BaaS) @powersync_ (Local First Sync Engine) 1/n
Sunny R Gupta 🐰@sunnykgupta

If you’re making a side project, however tiny, use my account as a booster. Post a snapshot of your project, heck, it could be a screen-grab of your code editor. Sample tweet you can post: ——————————— I am working on a project that will enable Metro users in major cities to congregate and have a peer network to learn during those usually boring commutes. @sunnykgupta and @teamshiksha> I’m looking for a frontend/backend/db/generic buddy to code this alongside with. ——————————— Quote this tweet with your best projects, be discovered, meet hack-buddies!! I will retweet all quotes. All the best 🤞 (Also, if you’re in Bengaluru, do join the BLR Impromptu Meet-ups group to meet other high-energy individuals from various walks of life, link pinned to my profile.)

Hiring platforms became really good at keeping people engaged. Not very good at helping people hire. That’s the problem. We’re working something on this. #buildinpublic #Hiring #startups

Started using LinkedIn for hiring, Ended up seeing birthday wishes profile views premium upsells. Somewhere in all of this you’re supposed to find the right hire. Feels a bit off Feels like the real problem is still unsolved. #buildinpublic #startups

The Dunning-Kruger effect is in full force... mediocre engineers (or devs who peaked early) assume they're elite, resist any vision beyond their own "works on my machine" bubble, and treat real leadership as interference. The actually skilled ones know how much they still don't know. 😉 Quick breakdown of the Dunning-Kruger effect in tech It's a classic cognitive bias: people with low-to-moderate ability in a domain massively overestimate their competence, while true experts tend to underestimate theirs. In software engineering, this shows up constantly. The curve (attached img) is famous for a reason... that initial "Peak of Mount Stupid" is where a lot of junior-to-mid-level devs live for a while. They hack something together that "works," ship it fast, and think they're gods. Then reality (scalability issues, production fires, senior code reviews) hits, and they drop into the "Valley of Despair" before climbing the long slope of actual competence and humility. Real-world tech examples: - A dev with 1–2 years experience dismissing design patterns, modularity, or abstractions as "over-engineering" because their quick-and-dirty script "just works." - The classic stat: In studies of high-tech firms, 32–42% of software engineers rated their skills in the top 5% of their companies. - Interview war stories: Candidates self-rating 9/10 in a language they've barely used, or seniors who’ve only maintained legacy code for a decade thinking they’re ready to architect distributed systems. It’s why strong leadership and clear vision are so critical... they cut through the overconfidence noise and force growth.

Looking to connect with folks who actively work in 'legacy-ish' / niche stacks like COBOL, modern Fortran, Ada, Verilog, Erlang/Elixir, Perl. If you’ve shipped real systems in any of these (or know someone who has), my DMs are open – want to route you to some interesting opportunities. If you haven't, please 🔁 for good karma.

Be very, very, very intentional, mindful, and careful about what you get influenced by subconsciously, especially on social media. Half of you are upset with your life because you listen to random things from people who have not lived that life or done it before. For example, you are listening to people who have not worked in corporate about how one should feel content about a life in corporate. Some people have a large following because that's their full-time job/goal. , so they can then milk the numbers to get money for themselves, not for your good. You are just fodder for their monetary gains. They don't have any of your interests in mind. Don't be their donkey. Ultimately, the audience also deserves the kind of 'influencers' they feed. For example, when people look for lazy shortcuts and quick hacks, that is what these people feed them false hope for, and they become influencers. That is why there are cultures where certain traits are cherished, and those cultures tend to do better than other traits where people tend to stay unhappy.

One of my favourites latest CSS property is 𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚑𝚘𝚛 𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 .𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚐𝚎𝚛 { 𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚑𝚘𝚛-𝚗𝚊𝚖𝚎: --𝚝𝚒𝚙; } .𝚝𝚘𝚘𝚕𝚝𝚒𝚙 { 𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗: 𝚏𝚒𝚡𝚎𝚍; 𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗-𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚑𝚘𝚛: --𝚝𝚒𝚙; 𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗-𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚊: 𝚝𝚘𝚙 𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛; 𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗-𝚝𝚛𝚢-𝚏𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚋𝚊𝚌𝚔𝚜: 𝚏𝚕𝚒𝚙-𝚋𝚕𝚘𝚌𝚔; } Eliminates complex javascript logic or positioning, improved performance. Best part is the smart repositioning to avoid overflow Simple, clean solution!

So what’s the long-term plan for One Piece (Netflix)? Is this going to be another Game of Thrones where the show cannot keep up with the anime and we end up with a subpar finale? No way they reveal the One Piece before the anime, right?
