@NuryVittachi @jimgeraghty That's pedantic nonsense. Taiwan is independent of China. They are a functioning democracy and have an independent military designed to repel the CCP tyranny. Why don't you take a look at any public opinion poll in Taiwan?

Taiwan is not just a bunch of really advanced microchip factories, although it has them. It is an independent country (sorry, U.S. State Department) and a modern, thriving, multiparty democracy with the rule of law, a free and independent media, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, educational inquiry, and due process. Freedom House grades Taiwan as a 93 out of a possible 100 in political rights and civil liberties. (China scored a nine.) There are 23 million people there who do not deserve to live under the boot of Xi Jinping. And we know the regime of the People’s Republic of China really hates the Taiwanese because they prove that the people of China do not need an authoritarian, totalitarian mass surveillance state to live happy, productive, and sufficiently orderly lives.

@NuryVittachi @jimgeraghty No matter how much the CCP pays you to post your nonsense Taiwan is by definition a free and sovereign state. I sure hope you are demanding US Dollars for payment its really hard to convert the RMB, but I am sure you know that.

@gamu0514 Well, if only the green faction on the island of Taiwan didn't constantly use 支那 as a derogatory term on mainlanders then maybe people wouldn't be so offended by it.

When I placed the Taiwanese and Chinese passports side by side, I received an unexpected reaction. So, in return, allow me to speak about a piece of Chinese history that people with Chinese nationality are probably unaware of. The Republic of China was founded in 1912. Japan was the very first country to officially recognize its establishment. At that time, following the Western powers’ pronunciation of “CHINA,” Japan adopted “支那” (Shina) as the official Japanese name for the Republic of China. However, the current People’s Republic of China strongly dislikes Japanese people using the word “Shina.” They claim it is discriminatory. Yet if you look up the individual meanings of the characters “支” and “那,” it is obvious that neither character carries any insulting connotation. In the end, what the People’s Republic of China truly cannot accept is simply the name that was once given to the Republic of China.😑

Do you need an explanation?🤔

@nanonano_me If Japan music industry gatekeep their artists on domestically, how would they ever have the exposure and gain foreign fans? So where would you find fans to attend your international shows bcs your domestic promotion was never allowed to reach foreigners in the first place

It seems that the majority of comments are misunderstanding that I am talking about international shows, and not domestic shows. Though I understand and appreciate the opinions about the latter.

If you’re a fan of Japanese music and live outside of Japan, I would be so grateful if you take a moment to read this🙏 If you’ve ever wondered why more Japanese artists don’t reach out and do shows & tours overseas, the reason is pretty simple and the main one is the hurdle of selling tickets. There is only a SMALL percentage of artists that can rely on the power of big labels/agents to promote their shows internationally. Even in Japan, selling out shows is a lot more challenging than in past years, due to people just being satisfied with digital content. And considering it costs even more to bring a tour overseas, you can imagine how many artists are willing to LOSE money by doing so, if any. It’s not just about the artist not being popular or sufficient enough, or that they don’t have the will to bring their content to fans around the world. In fact, there are so many fellow artists around me that I highly respect, telling me they wish they could do shows overseas, but know it’s not realistically possible, and as someone who yearns for the same thing, it really, really hurts inside. More importantly, it hurts most that fans around the world will often never ever be able to see a show of their favorite Japanese artist. I’m not trying to ask for pity, nor demand anything, unless this resonates with you. But if it does, and you want to know what you can do to help us reach you with our music, it’s really very simple. Please go follow artist’s socials. Please go subscribe to their Youtube channels. Please find them on Spotify. Please interact with them by commenting and letting them know you’re there to support them. Please share your passion with the people around you. AND PLEASE, don’t miss the opportunity to buy a ticket and GO to their shows, when that miraculous opportunity comes, whether it’s a solo or event stage. I am not exaggerating when I say it IS a miracle and it might never happen again. I know writing all this isn’t gonna change much, but I just hope it reminds you that every listener, every fan, every second of support matters in keeping music alive, particularly in this generation. Thanks for listening, if you made it this far🫶 Let’s keep Rocking On. NANO

@Suiattack @acendi0 My bad, it was before Cheer Up, but Cheer Up did push the MV views further and eventually reached 100M around the same time.

@FyQHyo @acendi0 That's not really true either. LOA flopped for the 1st month or so then it rose in Dec after TWICE tirelessly promoted it to the point they were invited back to Music Shows again. It became the most viewed debut kpop MV at around 43M views in Jan or Feb 2026 before CU release.

@acendi0 Like OOH AHH actually didn't get the attention until Cheer Up debuts btw. I still remember the MV hits 100M views the same time Cheer Up did because they blow up at the same time.

This just shows despite all the talk about respecting boundaries & not appearing at airport, when it comes to your own country, everyone wants the privilege that fans have at Incheon Airport. And mind you, those fans at Incheon? Half of them aren't even Koreans. 🤭

@bahlawat11 People dont magically die after giving birth. They will live to see their child's child. Some even live to see their great grandchildren. Thats how you get more ppl with only one child policy. Plus one child policy only applied to Han. Other minorities are allowed to have more.

Almost every Chinese person I know grew up as an only child, so it’s hard to understand how the population went from around 500 million in 1950 to 1.2 billion by 2000 if families supposedly weren’t having 4-5 kids The maths simply doesnt add up

Ppl love to paint a picture that the 9 Dash Lines in South China Sea is a Communist China invention from their growing imperialism. But take a look at the map of Republic of China (present day Taiwan). What's that in the bottom right corner? Maybe it wasn't a commie invention.

China is not a peaceful country. It never was.. It never will be! Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, the Chinese Communist Party has projected an image of a “peace-loving” civilization wronged by imperialism and devoted to harmony.

‼️BE ALERT - #China #CCP's campaign of transnational repression in the UK is alive and real. For almost ten years I have known that I cannot go to China or #HongKong. And for the best part of 8 years I have received regular threatening, anonymous letters and emails. But today, it would seem, the CCP or someone acting on its behalf showed up literally outside my home. This morning I came out of my front door, to cycle to the swimming pool for my morning swim, as I usually do. I picked up my recycling bins that had been emptied earlier in the morning, and put them back where they belong, and then prepared to cycle off. In the midst of this, a Chinese woman stood on the pavement next to the neighbouring property, and brazenly aimed her phone at me, taking several photographs. Then - equally brazenly - she walked away. I have reported this to the police. Let me be abundantly clear. I am not anti-China or anti-Chinese. On the contrary, I love China, have many Chinese friends, and have spent many years in and around China. It is the CCP and its repressive and aggressive behaviour that I oppose. I am often photographed with Chinese and Hong Kong people, and usually happy to be photographed, if someone asks my permission. But I am not happy to be photographed by a complete stranger, without my permission or even any conversation, right outside my home. If the #CCP wants photos of me (and I am sure they have plenty), there are many online that a brief google search will reveal. Taking photos of me right outside my home is a deliberate invasion of privacy clearly designed to intimidate and threaten me. Well, as with all the other attempts - the anonymous letters and emails as well as official threats from the Hong Kong police force - this won't succeed. I will take basic precautions and be wise, but I certainly won't be silenced. Indeed, this makes me once again want to redouble my efforts to support human rights for the people of China and Hong Kong and sound the alarm about the CCP's campaign of influence, infiltration and intimidation in our country and others. In case the CCP wants an extra copy of a photo of me on my bike on my way to my morning swim, I'm happy to oblige 👇But incidents of uninvited, unwanted, intimidation of the kind that awaited me outside my home today will be reported to the @metpoliceuk

Typical revisionist. Nobody had issue with Chinese calling it CNY, Koreans calling it Seollal & Vietnamese, Tet for centuries. It's only in recent years when anti-China crowd start demanding Chinese not to say CNY. Why they dont impose the same for Koreans & Vietnamese?
Razven@RazvenHK

Nobody had a god damn issue with Chinese people celebrating Chinese New Year until a bunch of rabid Mainlanders went and tried to claim everyone else's holiday as their own. A moment of shared cultural history and festivities turned into a pile of nationalistic bullshit

The arrogant Financial Times was caught LYING about China's poverty alleviation campaign. FT visited rural Guizhou where they claimed the campaign had failed. Thankfully news outlet Sinical visited the same woman FT interviewed to fact check their story. The woman told Sinical that FT's "journalists" had been extremely dishonest and unethical. They didn't identify themselves as journalists and they didn't tell her they worked for the Financial Times. The elderly woman is living a comfortable life, and this is what her house looks like. Thank you Sinical for holding dishonest Western journalists accountable!
