Excited to announce our new review (with @dominicacao @jvveenvliet & JamesDiFrisco) where we explore the use of stem-cell based embryo models in understanding development through a theoretical exegesis of Pere Alberch’s work on “The Logic of Monsters" royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs….

Careful analysis of these in-vitro SEMs uncovers morphospaces typically hidden in in-vivo development, shedding light on system architecture like key bifurcation points. Ultimately, we propose an "Alberchian" research program centred on embryo models to explore these insights!

It’s official!!! 🤓

Our work together with @jvveenvliet and @KStapornwongkul work shows how the reliance on glucose changes as the development proceeds i.e. peri-implantation to mid- gastrulation to somitogenesis. It also complements the fantastic in vivo work by @DominicaCao .
