I respect the concern in your post. When someone like Wangchuk ji, known for real educational innovation, goes on hunger strike against irregularities destroying futures of lakhs of children and parents, it demands attention. His health deteriorating is worrying for all of us who care about justice. Congress stands with him and every citizen fighting these issues — we care about his cause, Ladakh’s rights, and fixing education for our youth. But let’s be fair and complete in our view. It’s not accurate to say Congress ignored this. Not even once has Congress or any leader from our party blamed these youths or Sonam Wangchuk ji, or questioned why they are not supporting NSUI and IYC protests. Instead, we have been fighting alongside on the same issues. Our NSUI and Youth Congress workers have been on the streets across India against paper leaks and exam scams. They faced brutal water cannons, lathi charges, and serious injuries. In Haryana’s Kurukshetra, MP Deepender Singh Hooda @DeependerSHooda led from the front. In Madhya Pradesh, Jeetu Patwari @jitupatwari and countless senior leaders and cadre were badly hurt. Similar action in Rajasthan and other states. Many of our young protesters were beaten while demanding accountability, yet much of it was ignored by media and platforms. We didn’t stop there. Rahul Gandhi launched #ChhatronKiGunj — a big nationwide campaign in 28 cities with massive student populations. Direct outreach, meetings, and protests pushing for clean exams, jobs, and real reforms. This is Congress walking with the youth every step. Rahul Gandhi’s way of standing with people is remembered on the streets, even if media sometimes forgets. Despite losing his father and grandmother to violence, he walked over 4000 km in Bharat Jodo Yatra knowing the threats to his life. He reaches grieving families quietly: • Deep interactions with NEET-affected students in Kota and follow-ups on their pain. • Met families of students hit by the system. • Mandsaur visit to console families of farmers killed in firing — rode bikes, walked fields, defied barriers. @MNatarajanINC • Bhatta Parsaul support for farmers against land grab — got arrested but stood firm. • Met Mohammad Deepak (the brave gym trainer who defended a Muslim shopkeeper as “Mohammad Deepak”), assured full support, spoke to his family, and promised to visit his gym. • Also connected with the distressed NEET student’s family at home. • Plus Wayanad landslides (consoled like his own loss), Hathras stampede, Poonch shelling (door-to-door), Indore water tragedy (financial help), Gorakhpur, Muzaffarnagar, Unnao, Sambhal, lynching cases and many more. This is not callousness or insecurity. This is consistent solidarity without turning grief into spectacle. Congress is not @BJP4India , nor selective like @AamAadmiParty in elections (recall Bilkis Bano in Gujarat). We stand for everyone’s rights. The youth of India — many voting for the first time in 2029 — need unity, not division between platforms. We welcome all genuine voices. Let’s amplify every struggle: @nsui /@IYC sacrifices, Chhatron Ki Gunj demands, and Sonam Wangchuk ji’s fast. People on the streets remember who truly stands with them. Congress is with the youngsters on every demand — paper leaks, jobs, education. No blame, only support. Jai Bhim. Jai Hind. Together the students’ voice will echo loud for real change. #ChhatronKiGunj #EducationForAll #YouthJustice @kharge @RahulGandhi @priyankagandhi @kcvenugopalmp @SachinPilot @Pawankhera @kanhaiyakumar @NayakRagini

I agree with most of what you've written. In fact, I point out in my original post that the media ignored the NSUI's protest. I also agree that Rahul Gandhi has taken up important issues concerning students. He has almost always taken an admirable ideological and moral position. And that's why it seems a bit odd that he didn't visit Sonam Wangchuk, which I humbly think is the morally right thing to do. From a tactical standpoint too, Sonam Wangchuk and the larger CJP protests have huge social media following, largely consisting of young people. Wouldn't it help if Rahul Gandhi addressed those young people keenly following CJP's instagram, and reiterated everything you have written in your post? As a reporter traveling through rural India, I can't stress enough how many people -- farmers, laborers, workers -- have told me that they felt the absence of Rahul Gandhi at Jantar Mantar, and it would have been good to see him there. It's simply what I have observed in the field.

I request you to atleast look how congress, nsui and IYC and its leaders while facing all pressure from government and agencies have stood with every citizen of this country.

Akhilesh Yadav & Arvind Kejriwal have extended full support to Sonam Sir. Sab aage aa rahe hain lekin LOP? @RahulGandhi sir, where are you? What is stopping you?

I notice any number of people asking @RahulGandhi to intervene and get @Wangchuk66 to end his fast. I see NONE OF THEM requesting this of Modi. Why is that? 1. Because it will be useless? 2. Easy to advise Rahul? 3. Any other reason?

Wonderful conversations with Shri @Wangchuk66 and his wife Gitanjali J Angmo ji. Appreciate their passion, thoughts and drive for transforming education, encouraging experiential learning, developing culture of innovation and sustainable development.

Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamta Banerjee & every prominent opposition leader should personally visit Sonam Wangchuk Sir. Next time do not come to seek votes if you can’t save our Hero..Remember this. Mat karo CJP ko support, par Sonam Sir se kya dikkat hai?
