@chronsport @James_ChronNTFC Uninspiring read. On paper Garard & Sheehan might be worth a look. IMO we definitely need to avoid anyone from the managerial merry-go-round (Moore, Clarke, Lowe). Some of those boys have failed on bigger budgets than ours. Grant might want it - after all no pressure here, right?

@earlsdoncobbler @deb_the_dj In my recent experience of one academy they 100% take an ‘athlete first’ approach. Appreciate players need to be able to perform for a full 90, but they’d retain/sign a player who can run 1km under 4 mins over a technically gifted clever player who couldn’t.

@deb_the_dj @ntfc ITs football as a whole Deb. Great post from someone yesterday. Said we are not watching footballers anymore we are watching athletes. I miss teams that had a tall skinny one, an overweight one, a has-been, a tiny one in midfield. A stiff centre half, couple of bald ones etc etc

Interesting read. For me the talk of education in academies just that, talk, never really pushed or supported as it should be. This approach completely neglects those, the support acts or best of the rest if U like, that aren’t chosen for greater things. bbc.co.uk/sport/football…
