@learning_yohei Multiple reasons:
You don't need to know English in Japan.
Japanese people rarely get an opportunity to use English.
When an opportunity to use English arrises, most Japanese lose confidence and get shy about their English proficiency.

@YukokuTV1 Instead, why not charge a "deposit" of around 500,000 yen per person, and if the person climbs without issue and causes no damage and leaves no trash they can get it all returned after they finish?

いや、外国人の値段を上げましょうよ。エベレストは外国人の入山料は200万円なんですよね?
富士山も外国人2万円、日本人1000円にすればいいのでは?

@tuuu28283 Both places were great 20+ years ago, now I wouldn't go to either, but obviously for different reasons.

@tbouku_genzei Inheritance tax shouldn't exist, the wealth is accumulated by people that pay taxes every year, why does the government get to tax them when they die for their entire wealth? it's theft.

@oaksandlions Wells cathedral appears unfinished, like the towers are only half built.

The West Front
Every Gothic cathedral begins with its west front, the great facade that greets the city.
In England, these fronts were designed to impress long before anyone stepped inside.
The vast screen of statues at Wells Cathedral, the immense towers of York Minster, and the monumental entrance of Lincoln Cathedral all served the same purpose: to proclaim the power and permanence of the Church.
These facades were often covered with hundreds of carved figures like kings, saints, prophets, and angels.
For many medieval people, they were a stone scripture, telling the great stories of Christianity before a single word was spoken inside.

England’s great Gothic cathedrals were among the most ambitious buildings ever attempted in medieval Europe.
Rising above cities and fields alike, structures like York Minster, Canterbury Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral and Lincoln Cathedral were built not just to serve the Church, but to express faith, order, and astonishing engineering skill.
But how do these vast buildings actually work?
In this thread, we’ll walk through the structure of a Gothic cathedral, from the soaring nave to the flying buttresses that hold the walls aloft.
Stone, light, mathematics, and belief, all working together to create some of the most extraordinary architecture England has ever produced. 🧵 1/10

@26ers_bp115 As a "foreigner" that wants to visit Japan one day, please raise the Japanese flag as much as you like, it is not only not offensive, it is admirable to express your love for your country.

@BiancoDavinci The size is entirely fabricated, also he was not an explorer.

@SantaCarotaBeef Looks like a decent portion is wasted on the ground, you should be using feeding troughs.

They say cattle harm the planet, but our ranch upcycles approximately 300,000 to 1 million pounds of cull carrots each day by turning what would have been food waste into feed for our cattle.
Carrot-finishing is one part of how we raise premium American beef while making better use of resources already available in our region. This approach supports nearby farms, local ranchers, other producers, and the California agricultural economy while creating value from resources already grown in our region.

@RWMaloneMD Plenty of trustworthy and talented people are available for the supreme Court, not many can be a high ranking and public facing political figure.

I am torn. DeSantis is a brilliant mind. I have met him, heard him lecture - there are few who are his match intellectually - which is why he belongs on the Supreme Court.
On the other hand, he is the most effective manager of a large bureaucracy that I have seen in my lifetime. For instance, I could see him being an excellent Vice President pick in 2028.
That talent, which could really help the USA for decades to come - would be wasted, if he was on the Supreme Court.

@harukaawake The only negative things I was told about Japan were basically entirely to do with WW2 and one time in the last decade by my uncle that Japanese people are "arrogant".
Outside of that it's been entirely positive due to Japanese cars, electronics, video games and anime.
