A teacher found guilty of murdering baby he was adopting with partner, who was found guilty of allowing his death. 37-year-old Jamie Varley was also found guilty of seriously assaulting Preston Davey on an earlier occasion, as well as four counts of child cruelty and possessing and distributing indecent images of a child. All those offences related to baby Preston. His partner John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, was found guilty of causing or allowing a child’s death, two child cruelty offences and a single sexual assault. They should be put to death, no other sentence is adequate, revolting!!

London has changed quite a bit since I first visited as a kid in 1989. Sure, the city was diverse then: you saw Indian, Chinese, and Blacks but it was still overwhelmingly White, with roughly 80%. Coming back in recent years, the demographic shift is impossible to miss. Today, the White share of London's population is just over half, and in many parts of the city it already feels like a minority. What struck me most today was a visit to the National Gallery. I passed four different school groups, each with around ten students. In every case, both the students and teachers were predominantly non-white, with only the odd white kid in the group. What will this pace of demographic change mean for Western societies? Even assuming perfect integration, the broader question remains unanswered: how does a society evolve when its demographic composition changes so rapidly? These are not questions countries with relatively little to no large scale immigration, such as India and China, are confronting in the same way, because they are not experiencing comparable population shifts.
