@Patriots investing in the O-Line on their first round #NFLDraft pick was a WISE move, without a TOUGH OL your offense is nothing. @DrakeMaye2 may not have done great to say the least in the #SuperBowl but the OL was BLOWN APART all game by the @Seahawks defensive line. If we can bolster the OL and give Maye another second or two in the pocket, #NewEngland IS DESTINED for the playoffs and possibly ANOTHER back to back Super Bowl appearance.

For the second straight year, the Patriots used their first-round pick on a tackle, selecting Caleb Lomu out of Utah.

An Evening on the Rail Trail with @UofNH Cooperative Extension: As Merrimack County Commissioner, I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful spring evening today on an hour-and-a-half walk along the rail trail by the Merrimack River with the UNH Cooperative Extension team. The purpose of the walk was to learn about the important work they do to help preserve county land and natural spaces across Merrimack County and New Hampshire as a whole. We began at the old train depot, built in the early 1800s as a main route for travelers coming up from Massachusetts — a corridor that extends all the way to Lebanon in the Upper Valley. From there, Tim from Cooperative Extension led us down along the river, and I quickly realized how much I didn’t know! A few highlights from what I learned: Nature & Wildlife — Not all sumac is poison sumac (good to know!), and the Merrimack River corridor is home to an incredible variety of birds, from ducks all the way to bald eagles — several of which have nested right on Merrimack County land. That alone is a powerful reminder of why protecting this land matters. The Sand Along the River — Ever wonder why there’s so much sand along the Merrimack? About 10,000 years ago, melting glaciers carried rocks downstream, gradually grinding them into the sand that lines the riverbanks today. Bloodroot — One of the coolest things I discovered was a plant called bloodroot, which blooms in spring with a single delicate flower. Break the root open and the fluid inside is literally blood red. Just don’t do it in nice clothes! Invasive Species — There are serious threats to New Hampshire’s trees from invasive species that, if left unchecked, could devastate our forests and the habitats that depend on them. Forestry & Conservation — I learned that healthy forests actually require active management. Leaving a forest entirely unmanaged can lead to poor wildlife habitat for trees, animals, insects, and birds alike. Cooperative Extension works hand-in-hand with loggers to ensure sound forestry practices that sustain healthy forests for generations to come. Speaking of loggers — did you know the timber industry in New Hampshire is a $1.6 billion industry? It’s easy to overlook because their work happens deep in the woods, not on Main Street. But loggers may care about our forests more than anyone — it’s where they spend their days and how they make their living. I have tremendous respect for foresters, hunters, and everyone who works and patrols our woodlands. They have a deep admiration for the land that doesn’t get nearly enough recognition. We ended our walk at a historic cemetery where none of the tombstones bear names — only numbers. It served as a burial ground for orphaned children and the mentally ill. There are plans in the works to make some meaningful updates to the cemetery, and I’ll share more on that as things develop. Nearly 350 acres of Merrimack County land is also actively hunted by local hunters, which I think is wonderful. It’s another example of people who love and respect this land. It was a truly special evening. I’m grateful to Tim and the entire UNH Cooperative Extension team for the incredible work they do — and for taking the time to share it with me. 🌿

@Mets broke the losing streak and took home the win last night against the @Twins, I’d be absolutely embarrassed if I were the twins

No team in MLB history has lost 12 in a row and made the playoffs. The Mets have officially lost 12 games in a row 🫩
