Today, the Associated Press revealed that FBI Director Kash Patel happily snorkeled over the graves of 900 American sailors. That's not a metaphor. Patel (alias “J. Edgar Boozer”) — a man who has spent the past year jetting around the world on a government Gulfstream, partying in Olympic locker rooms, and handing out branded bourbon bottles — quietly arranged a "VIP snorkel" around the sunken USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor, where the remains of more than 900 sailors and Marines still rest on the ocean floor. The excursion was coordinated by military officials, kept out of FBI press releases, and revealed only through government emails obtained by the Associated Press. Patel had already visited Hawaii once on that trip. He came back for two more days — and nobody at the FBI will say what else he did there. The government jet then flew on to Las Vegas, Patel's adopted hometown. When CNN's Kasie Hunt asked former FBI Director James Comey whether he would have done any of this, the response was quietly devastating. "I visited the Pearl Harbor Memorial with the admiral in charge of the Pacific Command on a Navy boat," Comey said. "Never got in the water."
