The Market is going to market so I get people saying it has to sell positions and rebuy during the transfer but most people are in broad based index funds in their 401k anyway. Over 30 years it shouldn't matter much. Leaving at the old one means your old employer is dictating what funds are available in that plan and a bunch of other things. If you don't want to manage multiple logins in multiple places there's value in rolling it into your current employer plan because you're going to continue contributing anyway, personally, I think the lower fees/expenses and the total control of your own IRA is the way to go.

Spoke to a teacher from New York. Makes $140,000/yr with a 10 month schedule. Retires in 2026 with ~ $90,000/yr pension + full health benefits. Traditional careers like this can be game changers. Why aren’t more people doing this?!

the vast majority of 401k plans have limited funds and higher fees based on what your employer negotiated with the firm. Rolling an old 401k into a persona IRA, I suggest Vanguard, but Fidelity is similar in fees, and robinhood might match you a portion. an IRA gives you full control.
