We have over 13 million registered members in our party. Out of that number, those between the ages of 18 and 35 make up 50% of our members, which means we’re the most youthful party in Nigeria - APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda

From Pharisee to Tax Collector: Rethinking Tinubu’s Kenyan Comparison In a recent remark in Yenagoa, Bola Ahmed Tinubu suggested that Nigerians should find solace in being “better off than Kenya and other African countries.” While this may have been intended to soften the impact of economic hardship and rising fuel prices, the comment risks downplaying the severity of the current crisis. It echoes the biblical parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector in the Gospel of Luke (18:9–14). A similar warning is found in the Qur’an (53:32), which cautions against self-righteousness. Like the Pharisee who boasted of his superiority over others to mask his own spiritual void, such downward comparisons serve more as a refuge than a remedy. This validated an earlier dismissive remark by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu during electioneering: “Na statistics we go shop?” Yet statistics remain indispensable - they are the language through which nations understand their condition and chart progress. No country can develop in isolation from measurable realities or without comparing itself with peers. Comparisons, when properly grounded, are not instruments of escapism but tools of accountability. What is objectionable is not comparison itself, but comparison stripped of credible, verifiable data—mere tax collector comparisons that soothe rather than solve. On key development indicators such as security, the Human Development Index, life expectancy, GDP per capita, literacy levels, and electricity access, Kenya consistently outperforms Nigeria. Nigeria is the fourth most terrorised nation in the world, while Kenya is not among the ten worst. Kenya’s HDI ranking is 143 out of 180 countries, with a coefficient of about 0.630, compared to Nigeria’s ranking of 164 out of 180, with a coefficient of about 0.530. Its GDP per capita is roughly $2,200–$2,300, compared to Nigeria’s $807–$835. Kenya’s poverty rate is about 43% of the population (approximately 23 million people), while Nigeria’s is about 63% (around 150 million people), over six times that of Kenya. Kenya’s life expectancy is about 67 years, while Nigeria’s is about 54 years. The literacy rate in Kenya is approximately 81–85%, compared to Nigeria’s 62–65%. Kenya’s electricity access is higher, while Nigeria has one of the lowest levels of electricity access in the world. Kenya has about 3.5 million out-of-school children, while Nigeria has about 20 million. Kenya’s inflation rate has been about 4.5% or lower over the past three years, while Nigeria’s has remained above 15% within the same period. Kenya’s exchange rate has been around USD 1 to KES 130 over the past three years, whereas Nigeria’s exchange rate rose from below ₦500/$1 to above ₦1,250/$1 within the same period. Even with developments in the Middle East and rising oil prices, Kenyans have not experienced the sharp increases in petroleum product prices seen in Nigeria. Across other key indicators, Kenya also performs better. In the end, these indices clearly show that Kenya ranks higher than Nigeria on several development metrics. The standard of living of Kenyans is better than that of Nigerians. If the President considers Kenyans to be suffering despite these stronger figures, then Nigerians are in a far more difficult situation. He should therefore refrain from self-consolation and, in honest reflection, take responsibility for the situation and make a determined effort to drive improvement. This requires a posture of humility, accountability, and commitment to addressing the factors that have slowed Nigeria’s development. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Only him had used deep poverty to cure problems Fuel queues — gone. because he took fuel drive from 160 to 1400 in just 3 years. Let’s see if your father can afford it let alone queue for it ASUU strikes — gone. He captured the agency, dissolved all bodies, took away educational fundings. Within 3 years, most schools had more than 300% increase in school fees. Poor man dropping from school. Yet no one could speak for them because he destroyed all the agencies that can speak before hitting them with pain State bankruptcies — Worsening. We just kept borrowing more and more WITH NO RESULT. Before, if govt borrows, they’ll try to do something for citizens before stealing the rest. This one steals with impunity. Award 3.3 trillion to power (the same) project 3 times in 3 years with nothing better. Electricity — people now pay more than 300% increase for the same uselessness. An average Nigeria can’t even guarantee a 12 hour electricity in a day. With all the money said to have been pumped in this sector. This is a big shame. Insecurity — Worse than ever before. Now police don’t even interfere in kidnapping again. They just ask you to pay ransom. Private sector exits — Worsened. Almost all companies had exited Nigeria NGX decline — Naira had gone all time low. He took it from about 400 to 1400. More than 300% decrease Food inflation — so bad than a Tiber of yam has to be cut in slices for Nigerians to be able to afford it. I didn’t even know how much of a failure this man is until I realized you didn’t even have anything good he did to campaign. This is the Worst President ever in the history of Nigeria. We all should be angry and ensure he doesn’t see that sit again
Osas@osazenoo

Only he has shown the will to tackle problems that lingered for decades and the results are beginning to speak. Fuel queues — gone. ASUU strikes — gone. State bankruptcies — easing. Subsidy wastage — eliminated. Electricity — being decentralized. Insecurity — state policing in motion. Private sector exits — reversing. NGX decline — stabilizing. Crude oil output — improving. Food inflation — trending downward. It’s not just promises anymore; it’s visible shifts across critical sectors.

From all indications, it is now possible to argue that giving power to the South West carries potential risks. During President Obasanjo’s tenure, there was an attempt at a third term, which many viewed as a ploy to remain in power indefinitely, but it failed. Now, President Tinubu appears determined to throw opposition parties into disarray, which some interpret as a move toward consolidating power and become a supreme leader. In my view, that effort will also fail. I believe this is part of the reason some people resist the idea of an Igbo president from the South. They think such a leader may be less inclined to hold onto power indefinitely. It may also explain the reluctance toward Atiku, whose emergence could, in some way, create a pathway toward an eventual Igbo presidency. This is my personal opinion.

“This Experience Will Not Repeat Itself” - Another Presidential Promise fails in less than 24 Hours. Less than 24 hours after President Tinubu stood at the Jos Plateau State airport on April 2, 2026, and promised the grieving Nigerian citizens, “I promise you that this experience will not repeat itself,” another brutal attack occurred in Nyamgo Gyel, Jos South LGA, resulting in the deaths of several innocent citizens. Since then, and only a week following that reassuring promise from the President, Nasarawa State has been plunged into grief as the Akyawa and Udege Kasa communities fled for their lives after gunmen killed at least 11 people. Many homes were reduced to ashes, and numerous families remain missing. In Zamfara State, 150 innocent Nigerians were abducted from the Kurfa Danya and Kurfan Magaji communities in one of the largest mass kidnappings in recent times. On the same day of the Zamfara kidnappings, terrorists in Borno State stormed Chibok, killing four officers and burning down homes. Yesterday, on Easter Sunday, Benue State was rocked by violence again, with over 17 Nigerians massacred, entire communities left in ruins, and many individuals still unaccounted for. Today, in Kaduna State, several innocent citizens were killed by terrorists inside churches, with many others abducted in the Ariko community of Kachia LGA. Yet we were told, “This experience will not repeat itself.” This represents a failure of leadership and responsibility, and sadly, Nigerians are paying for it with their lives. These attackers are not ghostly figures; our inaction emboldens them. How can a President make such a categorical promise and, mere hours later, the nation continues to count the dead across multiple states? The primary responsibility of any government is to protect lives and property; however, this responsibility is failing today. Nigerians are being slaughtered in their homes, in their communities, and in the very places they should feel safest. Even the President did not enter these communities, so who is truly safe in Nigeria? This is a national emergency. Nigeria is bleeding, and the situation is worsening and increasingly helpless. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

You’re seriously comparing a President who tolerates your daily outbursts on Arise TV (@ARISEtv) to a regime that executed Ken Saro-Wiwa and presided over the killing of innocent Nigerians after the June 12 annulment? That comparison is not only flawed—it’s deeply irresponsible. You and your mentor, Peter Obi, should know better.

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame. What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed. Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Sorry to say but the victims are too lazy and the scammer knew this. So they were all chilling and waiting for some magic to happen on the day without being practically involved in all decision-making on their most important day? This is how they want to do the marriage ?
Talk2veee@talk2veee

Developing story! A vendor based in Aba was paid almost 21m to plan a traditional wedding event and on the said day, no vendor showed up!!! The photographer that even came after so many calls was different from whom she quoted for the celebrants and till today they have not gotten photographs and videos of their own event. It was said that he came with an old and outdated camera and was Paid just 100k. (From 1m budget she took for photography) Their guests had no food because food vendor didn’t show up. The event was so bad that the bride and groom have not yet recovered from the shock of how everything turned out. An official report has been made at Imo state police command and they have set out to look for this event planner who has since been on the run (rumors have it that she is about to flee the country) I have every fake receipt she generated to the bride and some details about her They want me to share their story on social media so everyone knows who this woman SOPURUCHI GIFT is. She is the CEO of EXQUIZITE EVENT (a company you must now avoid dealings with) A total of 21 million Naira was paid to her and yet to be refunded for a job she didn’t do. Her contact is - 08128888678 Money was received into the account number - 1310620205 Zenith Bank It is said that this is not her first rodeo If you have any information that can lead to her arrest, please reach out to me or report at the nearest police station as she is currently wanted. Normally I said I wouldn’t do this anymore but I was called from high ups and I couldn’t say NO Also the victims want me to let the world know this business person cannot be trusted and so they won’t want others to fall for her premeditated scam! I actually don't think Peter Obi hates corruption and corrupt people the way Datti actually does 😂 Lemme explain: Peter Obi treats corruption like a structural disease. His instinct is centered on prevention. He prefers to block leakages, reduce waste, starve corruption by making the systems boring, tight, and data-driven. That’s why he talks budgets, savings, prudence, cutting excess. Obi’s anti-corruption posture is almost surgical and technocratic. He believes if you design the system well, corruption will suffocate on its own. Datti, on the other hand, reacts to corruption like a moral insult. When he speaks, it sounds very personal, almost offended on behalf of society. His language is sharper, less diplomatic, more confrontational. He doesn’t just want corruption reduced; he wants it called out, punished and disgraced. The difference isn’t that one tolerates corruption and the other doesn’t. It’s basically a thing of temperament. Obi is restraint, discipline, long-game governance. Datti is fire, impatience with nonsense, zero tolerance in tone. Think of it like this: Obi wants to redesign the house so that thieves can’t enter. Datti wants to catch the thief, flog him publicly, and make an example out of that thief so that others don’t try. Neither approach is wrong. In fact, they complement each other.

Again, you miss this by a mile, and it is evident in this disjointed thing you wrote. I am very intentional with what I say or do. My footprints on here corroborate my stance on issues. To say these things to me reeks of dishonesty and purposely misconstruing my position. I have persistently called for descalation on both sides of the divide because it benefits the ruling APC more. That I want to stay away from the constant back-and-forth should be applauded. Isn't it tiring to see people from the opposition go after each other while the Government in power continues to have a field day? For me, like most people, the priority is clear, it is either Atiku or Obi. For most of you, it is very different. You will hate Atiku more than you hate Tinubu. Again, my stance is clear. Obi is capable, so is Atiku. And all sides need to do better, enough of the rhetoric that deepens the divide.
