Completely agree. People focus on “8/9 teams” but miss the point. Every game matters more for seeding. You can’t luck into the Grey Cup with one win, and top teams actually get rewarded. Earn it.

Love the new playoff format. For those complaining 8/9 teams make the playoffs, the flip side is: A) every game matters as teams battle down stretch to get in/seeding B) can no longer advance to Grey Cup by winning only one playoff game C) top teams can earn two playoff gates

@rivercitybum @MiltStegallTSN Not really. It happened in a 6 seed playoff. The CFL didn't die. The CFL will continue on. The CFL has always needed the extra revenue because it doesn't make enough money. This is more of the same thing. People complain that the CFL is NFL lite but the NFL would never do it

Thoughts on new #CFL playoff format:
Diehard fans the big winners. More football!
Timing and rollout were poor. Why announce on draft day?
The future. New tv deal, expansion, hopefully coming soon. Both will be huge for our league.
Overall it’s positive.

@Schnitzy48 Gray cup week they will announce plans of expansion to the states for the 2028 season I would say the best UFL markets will join the CFL. That right there gives the CFL TV contract in the states with Fox and ESPN.

@ALuCsRED_27 @CFL_Today Teams 7 and 8 deserve to be in the playoffs if everyone signs off on it. Football is a made up game and professional football is a way to make money off of it. It gives people jobs which is also a good thing.

Play 1-2, have loser L play 3, then the winner of Lvs3 play W of first game.
Teams seated 7 and 8 don’t deserve the playoffs.

@BrittonGray @GovA52 NFL draft date for 2027 hasn't been determined yet. With the NFL owning 8% of Genius Sports and the CFL doing their bidding, there could be some co-operation there.

@FraserPxP @JohnMcG20286628 a 4-14 team would have to win 3 road games in a row and then win a neutral site game to get a ring. Extremely hard (but not impossible) feat to accomplish when home teams win 80% of the time.
