I beg to differ, with all due respect… The two are not mutually exclusive - rape can be about both - sex and power. That being said, at the basis of it all is male sexuality. By and large, the horrors you’ve described above are perpetrated by men - as are most of a sexual nature. It’s not because men’s desire for power is stronger than women’s, but because their desire for sex is wired differently.

R*pe isn't about sex. It's about power. That's why men r*pe men in prisons. That's why bosses r*pe employees. That's why priests r*ped children. Stop calling it a "s*xual act." Call it what it is: a v*olence crime with a s*xual weapon.
