@upstatefederlst My son, for a HS history class, had to identify differing types of architecture. Our house is Georgian. He has a real interest in architecture, but I fear Ai would take over those careers. I did tell him that he could get into Restoration contracting and the updating people need.

I'm sorry, but watching a bunch of new construction go up around me, it all looks cheap. I watched the house on the left get knocked down and replaced with the one on the right and Left looks like it would have stood for 100 years while Right...... doesn't.

@ver_nanaaa Then that is the tradition in your family. Then the couple is forced to invite all those cousins to the wedding. What if they want an intimate wedding or want to elope? If people are asked to go to a shower, they feel insulted if not invited to the wedding.

Baby showers used to be 5-20 women sitting around in a basement eating meatballs and drinking sherbet punch. What if we got back to the basics?

Yet another chaotic takeover that the city is struggling to control and handle this year. We as violence Interruptors are frustrated having to get involved, in between, and risking our lives to help keep the peace with these kids with little support from the city and no help from the community & parents. I’m at State & Lake, crowd partially disbursed by 10:40pm. The situation was out of control about an hour ago. But then at 10:00pm, an order was issued for curfew enforcement. It had an immediate impact on this violent teen trend. Curfew enforcement is effective.

Letting our kids be kids also means getting back to the basics. That’s why, earlier this year, I signed into law a bipartisan bill that requires cursive handwriting to be taught in Pennsylvania schools. It may seem strange, but cursive handwriting is a fundamental skill that all of our kids should learn. They may not get why now, but that’s how they’ll sign their very first check — or maybe even someday, a bill that gets to the Governor’s desk (trust me, you’ll want good penmanship for that). And it means they spend more time with a pen — not a tablet — in their hands at school.
