The human services sector has been show to be essential to our nations response to Pandemic and will be a key force in building health equity. Taking dollars from these organizations who operate on limited margins already is not in the best interest of NYC residents!

Listening to excellent senate hearing on racism in our criminal justice system. People talking about police reform and investment in real opportunity. But, can we please stop saying the word “minority” to describe our neighbors?

Today we mark the end of slavery but we must come together, interrogate reality, cry a trail of tears together, reconcile and build a new more equitable, fair and just country so ALL people regardless of race can thrive in their lives!

Why does the census count people in prison as residents where the prison is located and not the communities they are from? This has all the wrong consequences, perpetuates inequities in their home communities and disproportionally impacts our neighbors of color. Must be stopped
