Who are you sitting next to and what is the conversation ? 3 years ago i went to a @FIDE_chess chess for freedom conference in Chicag,USA and joined sat next to the founder of the @thegiftofchess and that opened up to many opportunities for both of us .We both love Chess and we agreed to make something out of nothing. The march babies will celebrate together on 26th March in Malawi 🇲🇼...Happy birthday dear Russ!

Inspiring to see The Gift of Chess addressing the United Nations. I am stepping up efforts to address the world during the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. As a former migrant street child from the Abidjan–Lagos corridor, I am now using chess, football and freestyle football to support the social and economic reintegration of out-of-school and street children across Benin, Côte d’Ivoire and Togo. Since the launch of the SDGs branded soccer balls by the UN in 2016, our team has been using them in amateur games and freestyle events so these children feel they too can contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. In 2023, I became an Ambassador of The Gift of Chess in Benin and integrated chess into our programmes, helping children learn strategy, confidence and resilience. Together with students from La Salle Educational Institutions that visited us at the Seme-Border last year, we co-designed World’s Children 2030 AgendART, combining chess, football and art to mobilize children for the SDGs. 26th March is my 50th birthday and I will celebrate by organising a chess tournament and joined by my friends who value what I do.. James was born with 2 hands until when he got amputated after he was mishandled by the police ....that's a sad story but what is amazing is that James loves and plays Chess and we gifted him with a chess set and hopefully his potential will be unlocked ..Thank you to Jacaranda school for embracing him and also support with prosthetic hands ...
