@NeferuSebastian @Dwriteway It was a false narrative as Joseph Swan invented the incandescent light bulb, Edison went into partnership with Swan who doesn’t receive the credit for the work.

@Dwriteway As Thomas Eddison said, “I didn’t fail 1000 times. The lightbulb was an invention with 1000 steps.” The greater the impact you want to make, the more "steps" you must be willing to take on your journey.

Life becomes very different. Once you realize that failures are just lessons. They are not supposed to stop you.

@ayampolskiy The words you use regarding Edison “finding the right one” are quite appropriate, as the filament he “found” belonged to and was invented by Joseph Swan. Joseph Swan predated Edison and lit the first street in the world with electric lights. Edison went into partnership with Swan

In 1878, a committee of distinguished experts (called the British Parliament’s “Select Committee on Electric Lighting”) said it would never work. They had data. They had experience. They had consensus. When Thomas Eddison announced he’d make an electric light bulb that was safe, bright, and cheap enough for every home, experts dismissed it as impossible. “Everyone acquainted with the subject,” one said, “will recognize it as a failure.” One year later, Menlo Park, New Jersey was glowing on New Year's Eve. 💡 Edison tried more than 20 materials for filaments before he found the right one. It wasn’t physics that held people back. It wasn’t funding. It was, as science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke would later say — "a failure of imagination." Let’s finish strong! 💪 This week, let’s all practice a little more creativity and imagination — and keep making the impossible possible at SecurityScorecard. 🚀

There must be a free vote in Parliament on Digital ID. No whips. No party line. No pressure from Downing Street. This is too big to be imposed without real debate and a proper open vote. Digital ID would be one of the most far-reaching changes to the relationship between the state and the citizen in modern British history. Every MP must be free to look at the evidence, listen to their constituents, and vote how they decide.

@GuntherEagleman Yup, if not for America, the whole of Europe would have been one big Germany for decades. Many 1,000s of Americans also gave their lives to liberate France. Europe has totally lost it... they will come crawling back, just give it time!

Listen to the thrash coach. E6158 on yesterday’s Cambrian Coast tour Pwllheli to Swindon. Small opening windows have been fitted to 8 of the windows on the Mk 2f. Not sure if anymore will be done as the sale of Riviera Trains to WCR has one through today. Tonfanau 12/09/24

A major milestone was achieved over the weekend with the ongoing repairs to get 40 135 back in good health. The power unit has been removed ready for the next stage of having the crankshaft swapped. Thanks to the CFPS volunteers and the ELR for all the hard work.

@JamesCleverly Must be exciting for you, you get to sit on the same benches as one J Corbyn. You must remember him, the one you tweeted “Bye Boomer” to in 2019. He got more votes as an independent than you did as a main stream “ex” Minister….
