Honestly how many of the current players do we *want* to play for us next season? Not who we think might stay but purely who do you want to stay?

Twelve years ago today Wolves lifted the League One trophy. I wasn’t there, I was otherwise engaged! Thank you Emma for being such an amazing wife, I love you to pieces and am eternally grateful that you married me. 🧡🖤

@MikeyBurrows Even in the dark old days of the old fourth division the lads worked hard and gave it their all. This team show no commitment and sadly no interest. Sad times Give my best to Thommo and Lee Forever Wolves 🧡🖤

Congrats to @1874Northwich on their promotion to step 4 yesterday. A top club with top people throughout. Chris, Steve and their team are proper footballing men & great people. I've a lot of time for Vicki their sec and tbh I respect the fan base there too. Great club 💚

Breaking: #wba are to receive a 2-point deduction for a breach of the EFL's P & S rules. Will leave the club 6 points above the bottom three with 2 games left to play. Fortunately the brilliant job by James Morrison (9 games unbeaten) has proved significant. Albion could appeal

Ar @WBA, where the home fans have gone through an early repertoire of anti-@Wolves songs celebrating their rivals' relegation, 'Slap a Dingle', 'Wolverhampton we're waiting for you', 'Dingles get battered everywhere they go' and 'W***y Wanderers' among them.

Recently we unfortunately lost a dear friend of the podcast, Lee Heathcock, far too soon. Lee was a Wolves home and away season ticket holder for many years and we would love it if fellow Wolves fans would join us with a minutes applause on the 33rd minute of our upcoming home game vs Tottenham. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time ❤️🐺

If you haven't seen this excellent post already, give it a read. Once you've got the old gold in your blood, you are hooked for life. This season has been a nightmare, as good as relegated in November but, as we all know, once a Wolf.....! I'm 66 years and counting! #wwfc

Anyway (R) is all but confirmed and I'm in a reflective mood. It hurts. And yeah, I could legitimately go off on one about the managed decline under Fosun and Jeff Shi, but that’s a rant for another post (back to the resentment and bitterness soon).  This evening, I’m choosing the glass‑half‑full version of being a Wolves supporter. The wine is helping.  Listening to our away end in the first half run through their full repertoire of modern day chants has left me feeling contemplative. My mind is drifting back to our latter-day journey - the magic of that 2017/18 season. A season full of hope, belief, and that feeling that something special was brewing at Molineux. And after our promotion…   We played in Europe.   We reached a European quarter‑final.   We finished 7th. Twice.   We caused numerous upsets. We walked out under the arch at Wembley for an FA Cup semi‑final. And we were privileged to watch genuine elite talent. Those European nights at Molineux will stay with me forever. Under the lights, the noise, the sense that our little patch of WV1 had stepped onto the world stage. And one of the best parts for me? I got to live every second of it with my two lads beside me. The wife and I have had season tickets since the early 90s - decades of dreaming and suddenly we were watching those dreams unfold in front of our kids eyes. So yeah, it hurts. It should. But it doesn’t wipe away a single memory. Quite possibly the best times in a lifetime of watching Wolves. If anything, it reminds me why clubs like Wolves are different. Why it gets under your skin. Why it becomes part of your family story. Will we be back? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe not quickly, maybe not easily. But we’ll remember that we’ve already lived moments most fans can only dream of. So if you’re feeling nostalgic, look back at that unforgettable 17/18 season. Ruben Neves and Conor Coady still talk about it as their favourite year, and despite everything that came after, it’s a season I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. So, as the saying goes… “Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” 🐺🧡🖤🐺
