@SuzanneAxelsson I can't help but find it disheartening that so many natural instincts are being commercialised. We do not need reports, schools, teachers or anyone to tell kids how to play - they do it themselves. Same with mother-child bonding. We are overcomplicating.

It's important that there are more and more reports on play. What is even more important is that play is properly invested in - from government funding and policies, companies (that support parents and pay adequate wages) to town planners and architects to the education system

This is most likely my last time posting here - I have moved to Bluesky I am not going to delete this account as the history part of me wishes to maintain this part of my story. But I do not want to be a part of something run on hate, fear and division.

Brain Changes Trauma has profound effects on the brain and its everyday function: 1. Hypersensitive Amygdala – Making people see danger where other people see manageable stuff. 2. Weakened Hippocampus – Making it harder to remember or think clearly. 3. Weakened Prefrontal Cortex – Making it harder to think ahead or make good choices.

What is trauma? Trauma isn’t the event that happened to you. It’s the psychological wound that happens after. The good news? Trauma can be healed when properly addressed. We can’t change the past, but we can heal its effects on our minds today.

I don't like to tweet about the news, but this is just too much. I'm the doctor who wrote the recent @nytimes piece about what American healthcare workers saw in #Gaza. The @WHO reports today that Israel has banned five American aid agencies from working in Gaza. Israel gave no reason, but are all organizations with Arab leaderships. This is the easiest way to win important votes in a close presidential election in history: @POTUS and @VP should publicly announce that until the ban on American aid agencies is reversed #Israel will not receive American military aid. Simple, easy, literally zero security concerns involved, and what American law clearly requires.

A school where play is valued, embedded &celebrated ! There is no such thing as inappropriate weather just inappropriate clothes ! @RichmondMethod1 where play is taken seriously and children thrive @playtimes enabling them to return to class happy, fulfilled &ready to learn❤️

"Mothers led the fight to ban the belt in Scottish schools." Yes they did. Parental campaigns change the future. They take courage & determination.

Totally excited about creating a course... It all started with a dialogue about play together with a group of Swedish educators - including my good friend Linda Linder where I suddenly said - what we need is a "lekarista" - Lek is the Swedish word for play. 1

I am busy doing all the background work at the moment. And if you are wondering about why a dandelion - that will come in the next post! Super super excited to get this going... and eventually in Swedish too!

I have been wanting to put on a course for this for a while, but have not dared... but with the support of Sally from @wunderledteaching it's going to happen next year. 4

@Stuartski I read them in order that made sense at least
