@octoberskyshow@Ramit356@EdKrassen To your last point, I fully agree with you. It would be better for everyone if Iran went to another form of government. Whatever they would want would be fine with me, as long as it’s not the current regime.
First of all, it is the USA that destabilized the middle east. At one point America was helping Iraq fight Iran, and then America was invading Iraq. And then America was helping Iran fight ISIS. And then America was using ISIS to help fight Houthis that are backed by Iran. WTF? The American presence in the middle east is the primary driver of destabilization in the region.
Now imagine yourself as an Iranian, all you see is your country being surrounded by US bases in nearby countries. So they feel threatened. It is obvious and it is in human nature. And the most important thing is "death to America" BS. The real meaning of the chanting you're referring to is "death or end to American imperialism", which I also agree with. US imperialism is a cancer to the world, specially to the middle east. Why can't America keep their military in their country?
And also, the islamic extremist regime in Iran, which killed thousands of their citizens, is also evil and needs to be changed back to the democracy Iran once had... before the US intervened and toppled that, because that democratically elected leader wanted to nationalize their oil resources. So again, it was America that brought chaos to Iran, and the middle east.
Is Trump secretly working for Iran?
Why did we invade, lose American lives and then seemingly give Iran more money, sanctions relief and control over the Strait of Hormuz than they had before the war?
What am I missing?
@octoberskyshow@Ramit356@EdKrassen To your second point, I do get where they are coming from. I understand why, if not openly hostile, most would be at least wary of the US. As a combat vet, I’ve seen the dichotomy of our cultures, as it pertains to the US and Iraq. I can understand a bit of Iranians resentment.
@octoberskyshow@Ramit356@EdKrassen You have taken the time to write a lengthy reply so I believe it’s only fair to respond to you with my true thoughts. To your first point- I can’t argue that America has also played a role in destabilizing the region. That would be dishonest to say that it was only Iran who did.
