Hesston (3A🏈, 1-0) is coming off a 27-7 win over Halstead and now turns its attention to a huge CKL showdown Friday at home against 2A contender Hoisington. The Swathers are building off an impressive 8-2 season in 2024 under head coach Tyson Bauerle. SIK Pre-Season Player to Watch: Ethan Coutre, a 6’3”, 220-pound lineman from Hesston (3A), is a name to watch on both sides of the ball heading into the 2025 season. As a dominant presence at both defensive end and offensive tackle, Coutre earned SIK All-State First Team Non-Senior honors in 2024 as he helped lead Hesston to a postseason run. His Hesston squad went 8-2 last season and has high expectations going into the fall. He boasts a 375-pound bench, 545-pound squat, and 36.4-inch vertical. “This year’s going to be a statement year for Hesston, and I’m excited to be playing football deep into November this year with my guys,” he said.
