When I left my former company, I was supposed to give a one-month notice. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, I could only give them a two weeks notice. I sent my resignation mail to HR, explained I would be exiting in two weeks and assured them that I would complete every necessary handover and carry out my responsibilities properly before leaving. HR acknowledged the mail and informed me that I would not receive my full salary because I would not complete the one-month notice period. I accepted it in good faith and focused on doing the right thing. I completed my handover, submitted everything required, and ensured there was a smooth transition before my exit. Then on payday, I received my full salary alongside a thank you message from HR. I didn't believe my eyes when I got the alert.

My uncle is disgustingly rich. Told him I trade for a living. He said: ''Stop doing that, it's gambling.'' ''500 people paying $30 per month is $180,000 a year.'' ''Do that instead.” After 5 years…

To the parents of the kids drawing all over the pavement on our street — please keep an eye on them. I get that sidewalk chalk can be fun, but this went way beyond a couple little doodles. The pavement is covered, and it looks like the whole street turned into an art project. People work hard to keep the neighborhood looking nice, so it’s frustrating to see this much chalk everywhere with no one stepping in or cleaning it up afterward. Maybe it washes away, maybe it doesn’t right away — but either way, not everyone wants their street covered in drawings. A little supervision and respect for the neighborhood would go a long way. Would you be okay with this happening right in front of your house?

My coworker dumped her entire workload on me for months because she was “overwhelmed.” Then she got promoted using projects I practically completed for her. At her celebration dinner she toasted herself for “always grinding harder than everyone else.” The next morning, I emailed management a detailed timeline showing who actually did the work , receipts, drafts, timestamps, everything. Two weeks later, her promotion was “under review.”

My dad hated our neighbor for 11 years. Said he was rude. Cold. Arrogant. Every morning the guy ignored everyone and drove off without waving. One winter my dad slipped on ice outside our house. Bad fall. Couldn’t move. Guess who sprinted across the street first? The “arrogant” neighbor. Called the ambulance. Covered my dad with his own coat. Stayed with him for 40 minutes in freezing weather. At the hospital my dad asked: "Why were you always so unfriendly?" The man looked confused. Then said:

I don't even know what to think because how on earth did the room get opened? Seriously! If I have never experienced it , I won't sleep in that house tonight. Just go to a nearby hotel if no family member is around to offer sleep. I just hope the happiness continues and I wish her a happy ending.

My friend slept with her talking stage on their first date, and she’s been beating herself up over it. That night after their date, he drove her home. When they got to her place, she noticed her door was slightly open and she immediately got scared. She ran out and asked him to come check what was going on. What made it even strange was that she was sure she had locked the door before leaving she had even shown him her keys in her bag earlier. They went back in together, checked everywhere, and surprisingly, nothing was missing. But he kept insisting she wasn’t safe staying alone and asked her to come over to his apartment. My friend, being a traditional babe, refused……

My wife will be 55 years old on the 21st of May. We got married when she was only 21. Many people said she was too young, that she should not marry me, that she should finish her education, that she fell for a sweet-talking man who had nothing but wanted only her British citizenship and would discard her afterward. She stuck to her choice. I promised her that I would change her life even in my poverty-stricken state, and I kept my word. I have taken her to over 40 countries, all expenses paid. I have bought her several classy cars. She got her degree at 48. Together, we have built a mini-empire and raised three young lawyers. People ran their mouths, but I disappointed them. Please celebrate my wife with me. God bless you, Bimbo, ❤️❤️❤️

A girl i know got pregnant at 20. Her boyfriend begged her not to “ruin his future” and disappeared soon after Thing is… abortion had just been banned where they lived. So while she was forced to carry the pregnancy, he kept posting beach trips, buying new stuffs, and telling people he was “too young to settle down.” She dropped out of uni because morning sickness got so bad. Her parents started raising the baby with her while she went to work. Five years later he suddenly showed up demanding “shared custody” after getting a stable job and realizing people judged him for abandoning his child. Her dad looked him dead in the eye and said…

When I got my first real job in Lagos, I called my mum and said, “Mama, things don dey better small.” Two days later, my uncle’s number started ringing. Then my cousin’s. Then my aunt from the village I hadn’t spoken to since 2022. “Your mum said you don dey work now.” “Your younger brother needs school fees.” “My daughter dey sick, we need 15k for drugs.” I sent the money—all of it. 145k gone in one week. I ate garri and groundnuts for the rest of the month to save for rent. The next month, I set a boundary. I told them I could only send 20k. The calls got fewer. My mum said “I hear you” in that tone meaning I had disappointed the whole family. By the third month, my cousin posted on his WhatsApp status: “Some people, when God blesses them, they forget where they come from.” He didn’t tag me. He didn’t have to. Everyone knew. The crazy part? When I visited home for Christmas, nobody mentioned the money. They smiled, collected the bag of rice and foodstuffs I brought, and asked if I was getting married soon. Like I was an ATM with legs. Now I have two phones: one for work, one for family. On the family phone, my account balance is always “loading.” If you ask why, I say network problem. Truth is, I’m tired of being blessed only when I have cash. I love them. But love doesn’t pay my rent.

A while back, my ex-husband needed someone to drive him home after a colonoscopy because of the anesthesia. Somehow, despite the divorce and all our history, I ended up being the chosen chauffeur. Y’ALL!!! So there I was, sitting in the waiting room surrounded by concerned wives, husbands, and family members while this man was in the back preparing for one of the most humbling procedures known to mankind. At one point, another woman sitting nearby smiled at me and asked, “Waiting for your husband?” And I don’t know what came over me, but I laughed and…..
