This NOT good parenting Only the emotionally insecure would suggest this is “good”. - Child is overweight - Spouses are divided - Priorities are fucked - The dad seems soft while the wife seems hard (I can’t explain why, but I see it, clothing color and tone?) Bottom line, the dad threw a temper tantrum like a kid. This isn’t a strong father; this is a weak man flexing power over the only person in the room he’s stronger than. This is weak as hell. There’s ways to prevent and correct this, they all start with you taking responsibility for the role you’ve played.

@missjaclark @ZacSmall_ @EakleLauren Yes the point is that it is the mother's fault, but the child gets punished. Dad isn't able to stand up to Mom so he just goes after jr. to vent his frustration. Now the house will only have discipline when Dad is home, which turns him into the villain.

@teacherinRI @ZacSmall_ The child did obey the parent, his mother, who clearly has historically had authority in the household because the man abdicated his role at some point in the past. The father instead of arguing with the mother went after the child, almost as a petty way to get back at Mom.

@PaulCarpFisher @ZacSmall_ @HotepJesus Except that the father's doesn't chastise and set boundaries with his wife, he just goes after the kid. Instead of talking to his wife about how he is raising his son, he makes himself into the mean guy jr. sees an hour a day after work that hates him.

@ZacSmall_ @HotepJesus I don't care what anyone says on this. It was effective and concise. The boy was insolent and not listening. The mother supported this action. The fathers actions took them both down. Justice should be quick and dependable and not overbearing and verbose.

@ZacSmall_ This is a good point. Dad did nothing for a decade and let his wife raise his son and then flipped out at the son when he doesn't respect him. Never would have gotten to that point if the father had a spine. Notice he doesn't chastise his wife in any meaningful way, just the kid.
