I've been saying for weeks that the s&box skin economy is massively overvalued by investors coming from other games, who completely misunderstand what the game is itself Firstly, Garry's mod was never that big - nowhere near the size of CS2. It'll take years for s&box to grow into what garry's mod is/was - remember that it's more of a game engine/platform than a game itself, so it's going to take a very long time for people to start building cool stuff on it This isn't to mention that s&box isn't free to play, and so millions of potential users are priced out of both the game and the skins With the absence of any third party marketplaces, the daily turnover rate of s&box skins (the 24h volume:marketcap) is ~0.4%. There is almost zero liquidity in s&box skins, and any attempt to sell would cause massive price action For people who don't mind sitting on these skins for 3 years? Sure, it might be a viable investment. For anybody looking for quick flips? You'll probably have to wait months to sell any sort of size, and with such low liquidity any sell pressure is going to cause massive price action

@SwiiftCS I think s&box will do well long term, but it's going to be a VERY long time till these skins reach anywhere near Rust or CS2 (bare in mind Rust is 1/20th the size of CS2)

s&box’s biggest problems rn - Optimisation, often does the “not responding” bs on startup, game crashes commonly & allegedly low fps (not had this problem personally) - Lack of quality games, hopefully this just improves over time with better devs migrating over from elsewhere

@fanpagenavi I feel that but think it’s just a reward for being at these events to be able to play against teams that high up, rewards teams for showing up which is good compared to teams skipping events constantly
