Salley is a freak show dude. I know a lot of people are super low on him and leave him out of any WR rotation they’re forecasting, but his measurables + his production at Hutch last year, surely he will get on the field and contribute immediately right?

@KCAvsFan9 @Royals @OMAStormChasers I get that but Avila out of the pen to start the year doesn’t make sense. When the rosters expand in September or if we face injuries like we did last year, we’ll need him to be ready to start. Rushing a guy based off good 18 innings after struggling in AAA in 25 is a bad move.

Just finished interviewing Cole Ragans. He will get the nod for the Royals in Atlanta March 27th.
Cole will be the 6th pitcher in team history to start on Opening Day in three (or more)consecutive seasons. Gil Meche was the most recent from 2007-2009.

@kstateman14 He got his numbers, but didn’t do anything leadership wise to contribute to any success. (I know coaching was terrible but if he’s this top tier guy, he’s gotta be able to be an on court leader too)

PJ did what he was asked at K-State. He played all but what... one game? And improved on basically every number from Memphis this season.
Going 12-20 with that in mind is hilarious. Jerome Tang was a lot closer to Kenny Payne than I ever wanted to believe.

@reach_baseball @kkampbel32 Hard to frame pitches when the pitchers he’s had throwing to him most of his career were absolutely terrible. Also pitch framing is just as much dependent on the Ump calling it a strike regardless if the frame was or wasn’t good.

@kkampbel32 Pitch framing is by far the most impactful thing you can do as a catcher (at least in terms of things we can measure - game prep / game calling / managing a pitching staff, we can't really quantify)
Also, gold gloves are not a good measure of defensive value
