I have climbed EVERY role starting from bronze all the way to challenger. Here is a long post with 2 fundamentals that i kept in mind whole climb to help me on each role, all of this will help anyone climb not to mention its backed up by my own achivments on each role. (SAVE THIS POST IF U GIVE A FUCK ABOUT IMPROVING 😈😈🧵 TOP LANE 1. CHAMP POOL: This applies to every role but especially top lane, this lane is all about how you play out most early levels in your matchup, you arent a worlds class pro player to play 10 champs at once on a decent level, having a good blind pick along with 2 other top laners you can counterpick is the sweet spot, this lane is all about experiance. Many games are lost due to a person seeing an "angle" for a champion, picking it and getting stomped anyway cuz they have 0 experiance on said champion while enemy is prob some otp 2. ITS OKAY TO GET CARRIED! Top lane is for sure the role that solo loses the game by themselves the most often due to many factors. Bad matchup? A single jungle gank ruined the wave? zoned off exp lvl 1? or maybe just a skill issue? DOESNT MATTER, there is still whole other side of the map that you can win the game through, dont focous on trying to get back into the game in selfish ways, try to play to your teams strength and play to NEUTRALIZE enemy top laner instead of GAPPING HIM, there is a myth of "PLAYING SAFE" in top lane which is just not possible, soak exp and any cs you can, deny tower plates, harvest side waves and dont lose t2 towers etc, sooner or later the enemy opponent will prob drool themselves anyway if u deny them ability to gain a stronger lead. JUNGLE 1. PLEASE CLEAR EFFICENTLY If you go into practise tool, and you can reliably do a good full clear on your champs you are already a master tier jungler, my whole experiance with jungle below purple elo was enemy jungle missing many autos on camps, not dragging them and etc and just falling behind in tempo by like solid 15-20 seconds everygame leading to me getting super fed everygame due to me just clicking PVE way better, but this also applies to high elos super hard, JUNGLE IS THE ONLY ROLE WHERE BEIGN BEHIND 5 SECONDS ON A CLEAR DUE TO MISTAKES COULD BE DIFFRENCE, bettween your bot getting double killed or you getting a triple kill, knowing how to do your camps and in what order is just single most important thing for a jungler. 2. DETERMIN YOUR WIN CON, AND PLAY FOR IT Realizing what or who is the way you win a game as a jungler is whole point of the role, and the thing is its not static. It always changes throught the game based on the state of map and how your laners are performing. Best example might be you have a Riven otp vs renekton (horrible matchup) and on botside u have draven pyke vs sona smolder, your first guess would be to play and path for your bot laner, since they are clear win con. But its soloq, many times pure opposite thing will happen and you will see a draven dying to sona level one. Its your job as a jungler to adapt to whatever is happening in the game and not just stick to a single plan, anything or anyone can be a win con, a drake soul, a full clearing udyr, a riven one trick, maybe even a fking yuumi who knows. MID LANE: 1. CENTER OF THE MAP MID LANE IS WELL DUH CENTER OF THE MAP, this gives a mid laner so many options. It enables so many champions to be viable on this role just as it enables many playstyles. You have acess to whole map but drawback is its center of attention every game. What makes a good mid laner is being able to play your strengths on top of soaking the pressure you will be under every game. If enemy supp/jungle come mid and you survive without giving up 2 much thats a win for you, so many mid laners will just sit and cry that enemy blitzcrank is laning with them, but thanks to that your bot gets to stomp, valueable info on their position is exposed and you are indirectly winning your team the game. 2. SIDE LANING IS BROKEN Playing champs on mid who can side lane is genuinly elo potion, viktor/akshan/kayle etc sooo many games in any elo i would just see someone pick an immobile mage, sit on mid lane during mid game hit minions and spells on enemy and pray for the best. In soloq so many minion waves are dropped for 0 cuz one team is just forcing dogshit calls perma, take teleport, sit on side, hit tier 2 towers and minion waves i promise in any elo you will be 1-2 lvls on enemy laner in no time. People get bored so quickly and force shit on other side of the map while not paying attention to you, top laners already do this everygame so why wouldnt you as a mid laner? its part of reason why mid lane took literally 10 days for me (top lane for babies and akshan is op) AD CARRY 1. GOD STOP CRYING ABOUT SUPPORTS AND COMMUNICATE I FKING HATE this myth of adc players that "oh my goood my support just picks dogshit and runs me down every game how i climb xdd" idk if i got super lucky but from my experiance EVEN IN LOW ELOS supps were super obedient, asking them what they play and adjusting my marksmen pick to them was super helpfull, i see he wants to play leona naut? i pick corki kaisa and enjoy free win, they wanna play some enchanter? No problem bro, Zeri and Nilah are right there, this applies to support aswell BUT PLEASE FOCOUS ON YOUR OWN GAMEPLAY NOT THAT OF YOUR DUO LANE PARTNER, tunnel visioning on their bad performance will just make you play worse. Them leaving lane in most cases is super good anyway considering you can get solo exp and they can impact map somewhere else if lane is doomed. 2. META IS IMPORTANT Marksmen is the role where the meta champs matter the most, adc champs dont rly have that much skill expression in a 2v2 lane during the early game. If u play some garbage like xayah/smolder its gonna be way harder to climb even if ur profiecent at them compared to just beign semi good at corki/mages etc. This mostly applies to higher elos but even lower, marksmen with actual agency early game are gonna make climbing on the worst role in the game actually way more plausible. I barely played corki in my life and it was way more usefull than me on samira despite having 200+ games of her on top alne. SUPPORT 1. DO PLAYS THAT MAKE SENSE!!!! When u mention climbing support people will just go like: Its so easyyyy men if u have trash adc just leave lane? xD, this isnt an option, as a support you have to do things that are best for progressing the game, only roam if its guarenteed to give your team an advantage on the map, leaving your adc the second something goes wrong is just asking for a ff15 and a mental boom. Take into consideration what champ he is playing, what is he vsing, are grubs spawning? are u needed top side? Does your jungle needs vision on certain part of the map? Can he get dove 2v1 if u leave? You dont really have much to think about during laning so think about those things and look around the map and lane states. The way i climbed was always just looking scoreboard at 10 minutes and becoming a pet on a leash of the most fed player in the game. Your role is named SUPPORT, not ADCs slave. 2. LEARN GOOD WARD SPOTS, DONT BUY CONTROL WARDS UNLESS EPIC MONSTER Literally in every single elo, ranging from iron 4 to challenger supports waste their wards PERMA for fun, you dont wanna perma recall to refill them, dont just ward the first bush you see near an objective, DEEP wards on enemy jungle camps, or in middle of lanes are super broken, if u ward in a so called "triangle" 1 sweeper can reveal your whole ward set and just feed enemy gold. Its hard to explain in text but draw a line from top lane bush to mid lane and ward like that on the side that needs vision. High vision score is fucking fake, dont use it for anything, a single ward can provide 10x the value of multiple of them if placed correctly. Control wards are barely worth unless ur super homeless in terms of gold, they are only good during actual game breaking deciding fights when a control ward or two might make a diffrence compared to 15 armor from cloth armor. Hope u enjoyed reading this post, took a while to write and tried to choose most important things that came to my mind, remember this is what HELPED ME CLIMB the most, it might differ for you what "most imporant" means when it comes to climbing mindsets.
