When I originally announced the #EorzeanBridgertonBall I had a dress in mind, but when SoSick took her time to make a special gown specifically for this... well... I just HAD to wear it for this. She put her skills to use to support us all, and gave some joy to the community for nothing in return, and I think that's an amazing and kind thing. I just want to highlight the amount of people that came out to put this on for everyone to enjoy for free. The only people I knew personally were the people on staff. Now I hope I get to call some more of you friends! Dj AiLuvYou was amazing for donating their time AND getting the ENTIRE catalogue from Bridgerton to keep us on theme. They also were spinning tracks for NINE STRAIGHT HOURS!!! As well as backing me up relaying rules and instructions. They were INVALUABLE. The Iron Saints bankrolled the entire event, helped staff it, and were responsible for providing the treasures bestowed upon our Diamond. Asheanai Sher and The Black Dahlia staff worked tirelessly to help me coordinate and staff the event. I appreciate her stepping into the position of queen when my casting calls ran dry. They recruited Helheim bards for me as well! Ashe was at the ball, actively Roleplaying for NINE STRAIGHT HOURS. That's amazing and a tonne of work. I could not have put this on without their help. Thank you all SO so much. Thank you #ffxiv community. I got to wear a pretty dress and play pretend with my friends. The List of Candidates for Diamond! Congratulations for those who made it on! The requirements for selection were: 1: Faithfulness of dress/adherence to dress code. The closer you were to a regency silhouette, the more favorably you were judged. Excessive frills or overly glittery/glowy outfits were an automatic failure on the wardrobe portion. 2: Accounting for approximately 2/3 of the score was Roleplaying! How well you presented yourself outweighed the clothing by a landslide. We know options are limited so we wanted a way to even the scoreboard. 3: Participation in the evening. The more social you were, the higher the score. Rubbing elbows in high society was the only way to get anything done. Who you knew was half the battle. Only the MOST social debutantes were selected. (I would like to remind everyone this was a roleplay heavy/oriented event. Scoring and critiques were not at all personal and reflective of only the criteria above. The character of Queen Charlotte was what was portrayed.) Thank you so much for attending the #EorzeanBridgertonBall Festivities will continue for another three hours, so please come. There are still plenty of gifts to be given, people to meet, music to hear, and gifts to be given.
