The recent rumor about 300 new Pokémon/forms coming to #PokemonWindsAndWaves got me thinking. If true, it could be our first real glimpse at Game Freak’s long term strategy. So far, Pokémon Champions has only received one post launch roster expansion. That’s not enough to establish an update cadence, but it’s interesting that the first update was relatively conservative. Considering Champions launched on Switch in April and mobile only in June, keeping the metagame stable while onboarding a wave of new players may have been the priority. Now imagine the rumor is true. Whether those 300 Pokémon/forms belong only to the base game or include future DLC is still unknown, but it’s hard to imagine all of them arriving in Champions anytime soon. The real takeaway might not be the number of new Pokémon at all. Champions may finally be giving Game Freak something it’s never really had before: the freedom to take more time with mainline development without slowing down the competitive scene. Gradual roster updates could keep the competitive ecosystem evolving while the mainline games get longer development cycles and, hopefully, a higher level of polish. Just speculation for now, but if this is the direction they’re taking, I think it could be one of the healthiest changes Pokémon has made in years.

I was saying that because I tried your team yesterday for 15 games since it is a similar concept to the one i’m currently playing and my impression is that this team was a little bit frail against gambit so i thought ape could fit better in that spot specially when you bring Metagross but certainly ceruledge is a really good pick too and gives fire immunity to the team that’s also very cool!

How high would this be?

Talonflame vivillion, tailwind + sleep on pelipper, if they give you free switch-in killing talonflame, you have floette in the back and another sleep on swampert next turn or you can be bold since they saw vivillion is faster than swampert and double on pelipper with moonblast + hurricane, if they don’t kill talonflame you have dual + hurricane during turn 2 as well. The main plan in general is to prevent them to set up tailwind and keep swampert slower than vivillion and other damage dealers.

I played the exact same 6 during day one, i honestly think this can be the starting point of Mega-Staraptos balances. My only concern was double intimidate + double partingshot in a meta full of defiant/contrary/competitive mons Since grimm and Incin have a similar i was considering some heavy damages Fire alternatives like Mega Pyroar or Mega Chandelure that works well with screens support + baby staraptor as ground immunity and intimidate user when you don't plan to Megaevolve it. What's your thoughts about it?

Built a Mega Staraptor + Grimmsnarl team to primarily take advantage of Screens & Parting Shot with Contrary. @HamsterManiaVGC honestly nope, i was simply trying to mimic goggles but the lum came in clutch against some things. It will be probably replaced with some more usefull items like anti-fairy berry or something like that
